Re: The Official Game of Thrones [A Song of Ice and Fire] Thread
it's Distracted Deezy.
I'm starting to forget half the shit I read. I'm still upset that I got in to this story and the books aren't done.
I hope they finish out the story in the show, but I have a feeling that the tv series won't be able to finish it out or if the author even knows which direction he wants to take the books yet

"The author" already knows how he wants it to end and where each character ends up.

Re: The Official Game of Thrones [A Song of Ice and Fire] Thread
By the way, have any of you guys read any of Martin's other stuff? I just finished his first novel, Dying of the Light, and it was a pretty awesome sci-fi story. The whole book takes place on a rogue planet (basically a planet without a sun that slowly drifts through the universe) called Worlorn many years after a decade-long festival where a dozen different human civilizations colonized the planet and then subsequently abandoned it as it began to drift further and further away from a system of suns that made the colonization possible.
Martin's talents for description are on full display, as is his world-building. The way he describes many of the cities is phenomenal, as is his work fleshing out a few of the cultures that exist in the universe. It's a shame he never (to my knowledge) revisited it. My only real complaint is that the book ended far too abruptly. The ending was fitting, but at the same time it left me wanting. All in all, worth a read, though.
I also read his short story In the House of the Worm and loved it. Definitely going to check out his other works now.

I'm 200 pages into the 2nd book. I should really try and read the 3rd one by the time the season comes out lol.

Re: The Official Game of Thrones [A Song of Ice and Fire] Thread
Or at least the first two-thirds of it. Season three only covers about half the third book, although I'm not sure where the cut-off will be exactly. I know one of the key events (that takes place roughly halfway through the book) is in episode nine, but I have no idea what will be in episode ten.

Re: The Official Game of Thrones [A Song of Ice and Fire] Thread
NEW CHAPTER SPOILERS:
Lot of good stuff in the new chapter. FINALLY, someone who wasn't there comments on the weirdness of Daenerys letting Viserys die. Very interesting how Daenerys is being seen by Arianne and Dorne as a suspect character even before knowing about Quentyn.
Awesome that Aurane Waters is a pirate now.

Dude's a legend for that stunt. Man amongst boys out there now after ordering and then jacking a bunch of triple-decker ships from the crown.

What is this, 4 chapters now that have been released or read? I take this as a hopeful sign that he's moving along quite nicely.
Patiently waiting for the day I can finally say "Daniel Gibson is no longer a Cavalier." It will be glorious.
