I need some advice.

I think this game looks really cool. I've never played AC games and I'm not into shooting games. My friend tells me this is not like a shooting game (Halo, COD, etc), it's more of a fighting game. Is he correct? If the majority of the game is stuff other than shooting, I'd be interested. Also, I know it's all about the storyline, and I wonder if never playing AC would make ACIII pointless for me. Should I get it?

I haven't played III yet, but I've played most of the others. There is very little shooting involved. It's all about scaling buildings, making stealth assassinations, or just flat out hack and slashing your enemies. There may be some shooting involved in this game, but it will be muskets and pistols. It won't feel even remotely like CoD or Halo.
