Did you guys forget the articles about Colt basically getting treated like shit from his own coach? How his other coach left him in the game after a crazy hit which gave him a concussion?

You guys are taking this a little too seriously and to be honest, for years now, the Browns have been on a down slide. This organization is shitty from a coach and management point of view. They've had plenty of time to put some kind of a worthy product on the field and have failed year in and year out. Every year we're suppose to be getting better yet somehow we are either on par for the course or worse than the year before.

Let's be honest, Case McCoy has a point.

I'm not really with this at all. The Browns have had a couple years of above average drafting, culminating in a top-10 defense. The reason the Browns have stunk is because this turd's brother can't hit the first couple reads on throws and resorts to a dump-off pass on every play, thus allowing teams to stack the box. The second the Browns picked Weeden was another step up the hill, IMO.

I'll give you two examples right off the top of my head:

    - Colt whining to the press about Mangini and Daboll being mean to him.

    - The leak to Adam Schefter that the Browns promised Colt they wouldn't draft a QB in the first round (something that could only have come from Colt's camp.)

And yes, Colt should take responsibility for his dad popping off to MKC after the concussion incident. He's 25 years old, married and plays in the NFL. He's a grown man. If his dad was pissed about the way the Browns handled the situation that's find, but Colt needs to tell him to keep that stuff behind closed doors and not run his mouth to the press, because it affects Colt's career and livelihood.

Frankly, SGM, there's no evidence to suggest that Colt is anything exceptional as a teammate or as a person. Whereas there IS evidence that Colt is spoiled and entitled; Exhibit A being his airing out of Mangini and Daboll to Sports Illustrated.

I think people have gotten emotionally invested in Colt being this wonderful person and that's why they insist he is, when in reality there's no evidence that's the case. Either way he's plainly high-maintenance. Whether that's because of him or his family is irrelevant.

As for me, while I have my own issues with the people running the Browns, I don't like to see them treated like some podunk Texas high-school team by the McCoys.

The only thing I dont understand is ... The Browns are already downhill ... how much more downhill can they go with/without Colt McCoy. Does Case McCoy even watch the NFL. The Browns cant suck anymore and can only move up. We already hit rock bottom as far as the game goes.

From an outside perspective, the Browns are absolute garbage. One of the worst teams in the league on paper. Can't blame anyone for thinking they're a bad organization. The player at the most important position on the field is a 29 year old rookie QB that has proven nothing. Nobody recognizes the names of any players at the Browns skill positions except for Trent Richardson. And who knows how good he'll be?

Until Heckert and Holmgren actually start winning games, they're nothing. And thus far, on paper...they've regressed. This year is crucial for a variety of reasons, but until the Browns have several successful seasons in a row, everybody that follows NFL football is going to consider them as a basement dweller with no hopes of improvement.

Oh, they can most definitely get worse. Namely, if they end up sucking badly enough over the next two seasons for Holmgren and Heckert to lose their jobs.
How about a quick simile: Watching the Browns from '99-'12 is like waiting for someone to finish shitting when you've gotta go piss real bad. Now imagine waiting on a 12 year shit...

I disagree with these statements. The Browns got younger, deeper and more skilled and had a top-10 defense on paper. That is an improvement on paper. Are you saying that the Browns are worse on paper just because they had 4 instead of 5 wins? I think that is one of the most shallow misconceptions among sports fans. It is just lazy.

Key part of my post is the first four words. Re-read with that in mind and apply it to the rest of the post. Read it that way and get back to me.

Also...four wins is less than five. There's no other way to look at that, even from an inside perspective.

Can you please provide quotes/evidence of Colt whining to the press and/or his "camp" leaking a story to Schefter? Seems like your own baseless speculation otherwise.

    Certainly:

Schefter: Browns Told McCoy No QB in First Round | WaitingForNextYear

McCoy develops thick skin after rookie hazing - NFL - Yahoo! Sports

My mistake: McCoy whined to Yahoo, not SI. I forgot Michael Silver no longer writes for SI.

Now, you wouldn't happen to have any hard evidence of McCoy's greatness as a person and teammate, would you?

Seems like the McCoy's hold their son in very high regards. From his wife (who has privately contacted the players wives and told them to not hang out with Mrs. Weeden) to his hick dad writing a book to now his brother...

Maybe Damage is related to the McCoy's? He seems to know way too much about the inner-workings of the McCoy family. Disgruntled cousin perhaps?
