What's good is the cavs knew gee was not the long term piece and didn't pay him more than needed for a bench rotation player at least we can move him to the bench and he's not killing our cap space.

Gee is playing way above his talent. That's why he sucks.
When in doubt, step up the defense

No we sprint to the podium to take Bennett and celebrate having an offensively gifted, explosive 4 who can catch a lob.

Sidenote - Anyone else annoyed that no one on the Cavs can catch a lob besides Gee?

I disagree with this. Gee was asked to do so much last season on the defensive end. He took the challenge every night and guarded everyone from Rondo, CP3, Melo, LBJ and Durant.

Gee's a solid defensive/hustle player. He's definitely a bench player, and a bench talent but his toughness/defense shouldn't be in question. He's the type of player you keep around on your bench for specialty defensive assignments.

Gee didnt show any improvement last year. In fact he should of lost his starting job. If this is his Ceiling then I question his effectiveness as a bench player. Casspi got benched playing at the same level last year.

Takes more than being a decent on-ball defender to be an NBA player.

He's atrocious offensively (and doesn't seem to realize it) and his off-ball defense is suspect and he is prone to getting lost when he isn't guarding the ball.

I still think that particular skill of his is worth having around. He didn't improve this year probably because he was exhausted from checking the best player on the opposing team every single night. It was his first real NBA season worth of playing time too. I'd keep Gee to be a specialty guy off the bench. He'd be a good guy to have around in practices too, he's tough and he gives it his all, albeit with some offensive inefficiencies. He's not out getting into trouble, he's got a good attitude and he's tough. Something we definitely need more of.

For those of you suggesting Casspi, you must not account for toughness in your little calculations. And don't tell me it's not important, cuz it is. Scrappy players win championships, they make game winning plays, not accumulate stats that you goons over-analyze. No numbers are ever going to tell you about a players heart, toughness, relentlessness or their will to make game changing plays. You can only infer things from the data, but sometimes the numbers aren't telling the whole story.

yes his scrappiness was non existant in the 3 minutes per game every 5 games he got at the first half of the season but yes a 6 6 guy baging around on some 6-3 180 pound guys would certainly appear to be tougher than a 6-9 guy banging in the paint as Casspi was seen frequently doing when Scott could no longer justify not giving him minutes
