Re: Downtime
I still think this forum would do with a changeover to IPB.

Re: Downtime
Did we actually crash last night? I swear when I left at 9pm the server was barely working. Was it a database crash or was it a server is busy message? How long was RCF down?

Disabled the "Thanks" button. Cleaning up some code will bring it back tonight.

Re: Downtime
Is the new logo/theme going to be a hot-dog with the dressings?

Just messing around. I'm okay with the downtime; my girlfriend thanks you.

Re: Downtime
We think we've got the problem solved. We make daily backups of the website just in case something happens that we just can't fix. Those backups I assumed were happening between 2am and 4am EST but they have been happening in British Summer Time (BST) which is 9pm here.
So, with the increased user load due to summer league games and the Bynum rumors, coupled with a 5 gig backup happening we crash and burn. The backup has been suspended for tonight to see if that is the major culprit of all our problems. If things run smoothly then we have our fix and I can start turning things back on.
Keep your fingers crossed.

Re: Downtime
OK guys, it was the daily backups. They stated it again without my knowledge last night and its what caused the server spike. I have been told that its now set to run at 12:30am EST for testing purposes. I'll try to be online to make sure everything goes smooth.

Re: Downtime
Ben, judging from the times posts were made, it looks like RCF was down from around 1:50am to around 3:10am on Friday night (Saturday morning).
