I just have to say...before this whole thing went down, I'd eaten at Chick-Fil-A probably three times this year. I've eaten there three times since this whole thing started.

Can't imagine I'm the only one...
How about a quick simile: Watching the Browns from '99-'12 is like waiting for someone to finish shitting when you've gotta go piss real bad. Now imagine waiting on a 12 year shit...

yes, it is healthy. there is a general misconception around fast food especially when it comes to fried chick, about being helathy. Even fried chicken is easily better than a burger at mcdonalds. if its grilled, its another level above that.

the double down at kfc is actually a healthy sandwich. I think its like 500 cal 50g of protein. The calories are just coming from different places. Rather than shitty bread and a fatty meat, its a meat with more protein and less fatty but cooked in an unhealthy manner.

    You know what's healthy?

Salmon, salad with leafy greens and raw spinach, prunes, some nuts, some legumes, and some rice and beans. With a nice tall glass of water.

No, I want to make a difference between heterosexual and homosexual legal unions.

The only reason for that distinction is so people can judge, and that's where it comes back to separate but equal.
Separate but equal is a legal doctrine that was limited by Brown v. Board of Education, and subsequently by the Civil Rights Act of 1964. It did nothing to prevent people form making their own judgments. Now, on the issue of gay civil unions, I personally support them. But I also think there are legitimate arguments against doing so as well, so I'm sort of on the fence about that although I do lean slightly towards recognizing them.

Its saying, "Hey, I know we're both humans, but you're different than me and that difference needs to be recognized." If I can be frank, that's complete bullshit.
The difference is one of behavior, not status. And the reality is that homosexual unions and heterosexual unions are fundamentally different when it comes to the bearing and raising of children.

And really, who are we to judge this stuff? I don't know if God exists or doesn't, but isn't that his job? Of course, that's the beauty here. Since we don't know the answer, we can call each other's opinions bullshit and still go home and sleep at night knowing we're right.
This is one of the statements I've never quite understood. We judge things all the time, including things like pedophilia, bestiality, incest, polygamy, etc.. God's judgment, if you believe in the concept, applies to your fate after death. But we as human beings necessarily make judgments on behaviors all the time during this life.

Heterosexual marriages, the male/female pair bonding, serve the function of ensuring a greater degree of committment and stability for the raising of families. I think that is a very worthwhile social goal that deserves support. But the same cannot be said to anything close to the same degree of homosexual unions. It's a matter of pure biology, and if homosexual sex could give birth to children as well, the argument for any sort of distinction likely would make no sense. But that's not the case. The vast majority of homosexual unions are going to be about the simple union of those two people for their own personal benefit, not for purpose of procreating and raising a family. Therefore, the rationale to support/subsidize such relationships is not equal.

Now, I have no desire to punish people who are gay, but neither do I see a compelling rationale for specific government endorsement/recognition of those relationships. Straight people live together without getting married, as do gay people. I can see a pretty legitimate argument that should be enough, though I certainly support in particular laws that give individuals the right to designated people who can visit in hospitals, etc.. But the argument for the economic subsidy that is at the heart of many of those rights? I think that is a much tougher question.

    (Chick-fil-A)

Chick-fil-A, the fast-food chain that sparked a firestorm earlier this year after its president made public comments against same-sex marriage, has agreed to stop funding antigay groups, a Chicago alderman says.

Joe Moreno, the alderman whose opposition of a proposed Chick-fil-A on Chicago's north side helped fuel the controversy, told the Chicago Tribune the company has pledged to include a statement of respect for all sexual orientations in a memo to staffers, and has promised that the WinShape Foundations, its not-for-profit arm, would no longer contribute money to groups that oppose gay marriage. Moreno said he will recommend that Chick-fil-A's construction plans be approved.

"Last week, I met with Chick-fil-A executives for the second time this month," Moreno said in a statement on Wednesday. "These meetings cap 10 months of negotiations with the company over concerns about fair and equal hiring and serving practices within the company. Before now, Chick-fil-A had no formal message as it related to the fair treatment of all citizens in our great democracy. Now, for the first time in the company's history, Chick-fil-A provided an official company document, which clarifies their new policies to ensure equality at Chick-fil-A facilities."

The memo, "Chick-fil-A: Who We Are," will be distributed to all corporate employees and restaurant operators, encouraging them to "treat every person with honor, dignity and respect—regardless of their beliefs, race, creed, sexual orientation or gender," Moreno said.

In a letter to the alderman, the company wrote that WinShape is "taking a much closer look at the organizations it considers helping, and in that process will remain true to its stated philosophy of not supporting organizations with political agendas."

Since 2003, the nonprofit has donated millions of dollars to groups that promote "traditional marriage," including Focus on the Family and the National Organization for Marriage. According to the Civil Rights Agenda, a Chicago-based LGBT advocacy group that worked closely with Moreno, Chick-fil-A executives "clarified that they will no longer give to anti-gay organizations."

A Chick-fil-A spokeswoman declined to comment to Yahoo News but forwarded a statement the company made in July:

"The Chick-fil-A culture and service tradition in our restaurants is to treat every person with honor, dignity and respect —regardless of their belief, race, creed, sexual orientation or gender," the statement reads. "Going forward, our intent is to leave the policy debate over same-sex marriage to the government and political arena."

Earlier this year, Dan Cathy, Chick-fil-A president and chief operating officer, said in a radio interview that "we are inviting God's judgment on our nation when we shake our fist at him and say, 'We know better than you as to what constitutes a marriage.'

"I pray God's mercy on our generation that has such a prideful, arrogant attitude to think that we have the audacity to define what marriage is about."

In an interview with the Baptist Press, Cathy doubled down on his stance against same-sex unions.

"Guilty as charged," he said. "We are very much supportive of the family—the biblical definition of the family unit. We are a family-owned business, a family-led business, and we are married to our first wives. We give God thanks for that."

The comments sparked protests and counter-protests at Chick-fil-A stores.

The company, founded by Dan's father, Truett Cathy, in 1946, has a history of "unapologetic social conservatism," as the Daily Caller put it. All 1,608 of its stores are closed on Sundays, a day of rest for most Christians.

The WinShape Foundation gave $3.2 million to groups that advocate against same-sex marriage between 2008 and 2010, according to ABC News.
