Re: Call of Duty: Black Ops II
Yeah, for some reason people think that their K/D adds inches to their dick or something, so they camp to pad their stats.

Re: Call of Duty: Black Ops II
I always camped, but not in a corner in a tower/building so I could snipe effectively. Every three or four games I used to grab an automatic, and run n' gun which was tons more fun than just camping with an auto.
Sitting in a corner waiting for people to walk in front of you with a shotgun is incredibly lame... If you're looking out a window to snipe people I understand it.

I don't like those types of players either, but it looks like FiveThous was going prone to avoid the bouncing betty...
If you change your search preferences to best, you shouldn't get into terribly laggy games. This video shows you how to do it at the 4:50 mark.

Re: Call of Duty: Black Ops II
Did you miss the bouncing betty thrown on the ground as I was coming around the corner? I just happened to luckbox a group of guys coming around the same corner.
MY K/D is like .72 trust me I dont camp that shit is for pussies. I play objectives, grab tags, cap hardpoints and dom spots etc.

Re: Call of Duty: Black Ops II
Here's a question. If camping is so bad why do they even make sniper rifles? I happen to be a run and gun player (camping is boring to me), but the game has spots and large portions of entire maps that cater to this style of play. You can't give the COD community a bad name by camping when the game in a sense encourages it. I think some people just like the stealthy aspect... kind of like playing Tenchu instead of Ninja Gaiden.

Re: Call of Duty: Black Ops II
Sniping isn't the camping people hate, or at least not the kind I hate. The kind I hate is the people who grab an overpowered weapon, put on anti radar perks, and chill in a corner for the entire game waiting for people to walk by them, and they shoot. It really ruins the game, unlike the sniping aspect where it takes a certain degree of skill to get kills.

Re: Call of Duty: Black Ops II
But honestly, 9 times out of 10 if someone is doing what you said, they are just an awful player. It's always easy to kill them if they get you once.
I think calling people "campers" is one of the biggest and most overused excuses. People just say it when they're sick and tired of getting their ass kicked.

Re: Call of Duty: Black Ops II
It's easy enough depending on their position. Haven't played this MP, but in previous COD multi's there were some incredibly secluded areas that people could camp in that grenades wouldn't have an effect on because of the angle you'd have to throw it. Also in MW2 (last MP I frequented) there was that auto shotgun that you could put extended mags on with, and hold the trigger for like 5 mins. It was incredibly overpowered with stopping power, and there were a ton of corners to camp in that were relatively difficult to get them at.

Re: Call of Duty: Black Ops II
This game is tailor-made for all the people that bitch and whine about camping, so I'm not sure why this is even a discussion.
EDIT
Examples:
Ghost only works while planting/defusing a bomb, while moving, or while controlling a kill streak. You can't sit still and be hidden from radar.
Orbital VSATs.
Attachments such as the target finder, millimeter scanner, and all the various explosive projectiles (noob tubes, crossbows, RPGs, etc.)
I understand the last two I listed were in previous Call of Duty games in some capacity (with the exception of the target finder, which I admit is probably the best attachment in the game and one that I use). But if the first point listed doesn't scream "we wanted to please the run n' gun crowd and tell the people that like to sit back and hold down key areas of the map to go fuck themselves" then I'm not sure what does. Essentially handicapping or eliminating an entire style of play because people bitch and moan just doesn't seem right in my eyes -- what if the camping crowd had cried about all the quickdraw and speed perks that make it way tougher than it needs to be to shoot and kill a player who is sprinting at you like a dumbass, especially with the hit reg problems that this series is notorious for?Last edited by Marcus; 12-02-2012 at 04:28 PM.
