Re: Cavs looking to trade Daniel Gibson?
If we can get a first round pick for him then imho you absolutely have to do it. That said, I don't believe he's the type of person you trade just to trade because of his commitment to the organization. He truly loves this team, and it shows. If the best we could get would be a second round pick, and some salary for him then I say keep him around. If we could get a pick in the early 20's for him i'd personally pull the trigger.
I like Boobie, and I always have. Won't be mad either way tbh.

Re: Cavs looking to trade Daniel Gibson?
The big thing for me against Boobie is that he can NEVER stay healthy consistently.

Re: Cavs looking to trade Daniel Gibson?
As with Andy, all depends on the return, but I would hate to lose him for nothing. These guys can say all the right things about wanting to stay here, but we should know better than to believe any of them at this point.

Re: Cavs looking to trade Daniel Gibson?
I don't see us acquiring anything more valuable than him in a trade. You can always use a 3 point specialist off the bench, his D isn't half bad either.
I'd put it in his contract that he gets docked $1k everytime he dribbles."Any asshole can be a father, I want to be a champion." - The League
"Doc, your signature is hysterical." - Distracted

Re: Cavs looking to trade Daniel Gibson?
It made me laugh when they mentioned Pargo and Sloan in that article. Like those guys arent shit. Boobie is a scrappy defender and hits 3s at league leading percentages. I think for a team looking for a last piece to their puzzle its worth a 1st, but ima Boobie ont get us much

Re: Cavs looking to trade Daniel Gibson?
I can understand why trading Andy, despite the love for him, makes sense. I mean, you're looking at potential lottery picks, young talent, etc. And it's still a tough call. But honestly, what are you going to get from trading Boobie? A first round pick? Maybe we can use it to draft a decent guard who can come off the bench and shoot threes/play good perimeter defense!
I can understand why it might sound like a good idea... building assets, etc, etc, but it seems like trading someone just for the sake of trading him. You're either going to get equal, or worse return for him.
Also, defensively, he's everything I want Kyrie to be. Not a lock down defender, but his effort on the defensive end proves that anybody with decent conditioning/quickness/athleticism can play effervescent NBA defense, giving Kyrie no excuses.

Re: Cavs looking to trade Daniel Gibson?
Boobie's main value is his contract tbh. He's at best a stop gag for a team until the end of the season, and then he expires.
For example (just an example, not an actual trade idea).
Hedo's remaining two years for Boobie, and Walton, and Orlando sends us one of those picks they got from Denver/Philly.
That would be a pretty good return for Boobie, and Walton.

Re: Cavs looking to trade Daniel Gibson?
I don't want Boobie or Andy going anywhere unless we get that offer that would make us look completely stupid to pass up.
They're both Cavaliers. I want them to stay that way.

I mean, a team gave up a 1st for Jiri Welsch once upon a time, if I'm not mistaken...
