Interesting - that's how I felt about season 3 with the exception of a few episodes.

I found season 3 to be slower moving. Maybe it's because I was in denial about the demise of Jimmy, and felt that the first few episodes just moved way too slow, for me. It picks up, but I still fell that the 2 previous seasons were better than Season 3. It was too much about Nucky, this season. But I did love Gyp.

I think Arnold Roethstine is either going to become a larger character or he will dissolve in the writing. breaking bad is so watchable. Boardwalk empire, the way to approach is to understand that theres a lot of characters in season 2, but there are some scene stealing actors that make every episode interesting. Some of it is boring. I would really suggest continuing to watch.. i really relaly got into after being whatever on season 1. season 3 is the best

Season two is better than season one and (imo) season three is better than either of the first two. The show is finally finding its legs and giving payoff for the commitment viewers made to it. Season one was a gorgeous period piece that lacked narrative punch. Seasons two and (especially) three found that punch. Both have some very interesting characters and finally give payoff for certain characters (like Capone) that were existing essentially in their own world in the first season.

The show can still be slow at times (like Margaret's boring as hell women's health plotline in season three), but overall it has improved a great deal since the first season.
