This is kind of why I wish we were in the early teens or so. I like a lot of prospects for around there, but I don't like the top 5 at all unless we want a quarterback and I already spoke my mind about that last page.

With this seasons draft I would trade down in the 1st if I could pick up a 2nd in the package

USC has been fined by the Pac-12 after one of its student managers tried to deflate game balls before the Trojans' game with Oregon last Saturday, USC reported on Wednesday night.

His attempt was mildly successful, as some balls used in the first half of USC's 62-51 loss were deflated below NCAA regulation. He was later fired by USC after an investigation.

    According to the report:

Game officials discovered and re-inflated three of the balls before the game and two others at halftime. All balls were regulation in the second half.

When informed of this allegation by the Pac-12, USC investigated it immediately. The student manager confirmed that he had, without the knowledge of, or instruction from, any USC student-athlete, coach, staff member or administrator, deflated those game balls after they had been tested and approved by officials prior to the game.

As a result, the Pac-12 reprimanded USC and imposed a fine.
A deflated ball is easier to throw and would have given Trojan quarterback Matt Barkley a bit of an advantage playing against the Ducks.

The mini-scandal is the latest bit of controversy to swirl around Lane Kiffin's program this season.

Will be interesting to see if Barkley's stats start to wain after this. Also interesting to see if this game manager gets another job somewhere in the Pete Carroll circle of trust.

Hope that kid is getting his tuition paid as hush money, otherwise I'd be going straight to the NCAA

This Texas A&M freshman looks damn good. Carving up Alabama's defense. He's someone to keep an eye out for.

In before someone foolishly refers to Johnny Manziel as an NFL prospect.

    Oh whoops...

Mo Claiborne had 5 penalties last week against the Eagles... at least 2 offsides penalties, which as a CB is embarrassing.

Where are all the Barkley lovers, that said this kid is a can't miss prospect? All he does is miss. Stinks. Shouldn't even be drafted in the first two rounds.

Not sure where you're getting this. Most of the posts I've read have been heavily anti-Barkley.

Barkley is the de facto #1 QB in a down year that will be overdrafted. Might have been the #4 guy last year.

SpEaking of qbs do you guys see denard Robinson being drafted at all? Maybe in the 6th or 7th rounds? Like a slot receiver or kick returner? Just curious

today showed he could play running back, I know its only one game but he if put like 10-20 pounds on, he'd be a good size for that position

As a UM fan, late round utility project player.

But, some team will draft him early (4th/5th rd type early) just due to his speed. He runs a 4.23 and makes defenders miss like crazy. Hell of a College player, definition of a NFL project player.
