Re: 2013 NFL Draft thread
I think we have to take a look at Tyler Eifert if we fall to the mid-teens in the draft. Who knows if they're going to re-sign Watson and Eifert looks to be a pretty damned good talent.

Re: 2013 NFL Draft thread
I think the line is solid, they should get better as they get more experience together. I think we definitely need to be looking for a beastly pass rusher and another legit starting CB. When Haden was out, our defense was terrible. If we can add another stud opposite him and a guy who can really create pressure on a QB, then I think this D could transform into one of the best in the league.
Does Cleveland actually have good luck?

Re: 2013 NFL Draft thread
If we pick in the 10-12 range id really want Milliner but i just dont see him being there, id go with whichever pass rusher is still available whomever it may be Mingo,Moore Montogoermy etc...Also dont sleep on Jordan he is a Freak of an Althete like JPP, and could have the highest ceiling outta all of them...

Re: 2013 NFL Draft thread
I would be more than happy with that. Id trust Heckert to find a DE in the third or later. If he gets to handle the draft.

Re: 2013 NFL Draft thread
There's a number of players I wouldn't be upset at all with, and Chase is one of them. To me, he's a sure fire pro-bowler and could become the best guard in the league. Put him on the left side with arguably the best LT in the game and the Browns have a brick wall on the QB's blind slide. We certainly could use help on D, but Jones' spinal condition scares the hell out of me and I have some questions about Montgomery and Jordan.
I think adding Warmack would significantly improve the run game and also help to keep the defense off the field. Also, if Weeden doesn't work out for whatever reason, the QB that took over in 2014 would walk into a situation where he has maybe the best line in the league, a stud RB, and two big, young playmakers at WR. That would be a great situation for a rookie QB to take over and would also be extremely appealing to any vets that might be available. It's basically like handig over the keys to a Ferarri.
Anyway, I'd much rather have Moore, Werner, or Milliner, but they might all be long gone before we pick anyway. We certainly could do much worse than Warmack.

Re: 2013 NFL Draft thread
I agree, but it seems like to much money on the line. We had a great line this year, and have holes in so many other places. Unless he is truly BPA, I would not grab him. We still have talent issues, and we need to always take BPA, especially now that we do not have a true hole somewhere. I would love to see us grab CB, or a pass rushing DE. But, it all depends in the new coach and system. If we go to a 3 - 4 Def. then it opens another can of worms.

Re: 2013 NFL Draft thread
McShay has Barkley out of the first round? No way he drops to the second round. And the Chiefs just drafted Dontari Poe this past year. They run a 3-4, I don't see them taking another DT with the first pick.

Re: 2013 NFL Draft thread
Yeah, I agree. No way that they should take a DT. Poe is starting at NT for them and although they're going to lose Dorsey this season, that front office has to address more pressing needs. I do think that Poe or Star would be able to play DE in the 3-4 or the defense might move to a 4-3 if Romeo/Pioli get replaced. I guess we'll see, but the Chiefs desperately need a QB who can handle playing the position...

Re: 2013 NFL Draft thread
The best thing about this mock draft is look at the safeties that would be available in round 2 & 3.
Eric Reid - LSU
Tony Jefferson - Oklahoma
Baccarri Rambo - Georgia
Matt Elam - Florida
He also has Xavier Rhodes sliding out of the first round, which makes some sense as Rhodes looked awful against Georgia Tech in the ACC championship game. I wonder if he is keeping him out of the mock because he hasn't declared yet.
Anyways, if any of those safeties fall to us in the third round, we have an immediate upgrade and new starter.

Re: 2013 NFL Draft thread
I like Matt Elam alot and hope we could maybe find a way to try and trade back up to get him...I think he may eventually go at the bottom of first when its all said and done though but i think he'd be perfect next to Ward....
