Re: 2013 NFL Draft thread
I'm looking forward to the combine this weekend.
And, I cannot help but think that the Browns might take Tyler with the 6th pick. It just makes too much sense:
1. Chud is a former TE who loves them
2. We are thin at that position
3. OLB can be addressed in FA
There is so much that has yet to be determined until the end of April. However, do not pencil in an OLB/DE hybrid with our 6th pick just yet. But, for the other draft-nerds like me out there, I suggest you look into this guy a lot more.

Re: 2013 NFL Draft thread
Or maybe we trade down from 6, grab a 2nd round pick and then take him.
Also, we met with a QB
Arizona QB Matt Scott said he met with #Browns last night. He's a running QB who said he's studied Russell Wilson, RG3 and Vick in prime.

Some notes on today:
Daryl Ruiter@RuiterWrongFAN
Oklahoma State RB Joseph Randle told me he met with #Browns RBs coach John Settle Thursday evening and other staffters
Daryl Ruiter@RuiterWrongFAN
From my guy @dpbrugler "There is not a QB in this draft that can start ahead of Brandon Weeden in year 1" #Browns
Adam Caplan@caplannfl
Some of the teams Oklahoma LT Lane Johnson is scheduled to meet: Browns, Colts, Eagles, Bears, Texans, Ravens, Bengals, Steelers, Dolphins.

Re: 2013 NFL Draft thread
If I had it my way, I would take an offensive lineman high in the draft every single year. Not a first rounder every year, but a significant pick. IMO there are too many good tackles and guards in this draft to not take at least one.
And, don't be surprised if Lane runs a sub 5.0 forty today.

Re: 2013 NFL Draft thread
Just watched some of the TE drills from the combine.
I see it as no accident that one of the Browns' scouts was front and center.
I'll say it again...Tyler Eifert...get used to that name.

Re: 2013 NFL Draft thread
I honestly could see us trading down to the late teens to acquire a 2nd rounder and taking a TE. While I don't think it is likely, I do think it could happen.

Re: 2013 NFL Draft thread

Come on here, guys. First off, these teams interview every single top prospect, every single year. Second, the Browns have far too many needs to use their first pick on a TE. Even if they found a trade down partner, they are still not going to draft a TE with the 1st pick. There's just no solid reasoning for it.
Besides, I think Cameron may end up being a pretty good TE in this system, under these coaches.

Re: 2013 NFL Draft thread
I'm strongly against Jarvis Jones at this point. I just don't like his size and of course his neck issues are cause for serious concern. With Banner's statements yesterday about grading guys on injury, I gotta think Jones is on the outside looking in for the Browns.
Ansah could be a real option. I think Dion Jordan, assuming his shoulder isn't a big deal looking forward, is the favorite at this point.
