Re: Mike Brown Hired as Head Coach
Jonas' leap was simply adjusting to the NBA game. Tristan has actually added a completely new facet to his game. You tell me which one is more likely to continue growing like that?
The amount of time they took is irrelevant. Jonas is younger, but he also had experience at the professional level. Tristan was more raw, but he has shown more growth. That doesn't necessarily mean he's better than Jonas now. But I'm more encouraged by a defensive minded player learning to play offense than I am a center simply getting used to the game. That's why I think, long term, Tristan will be better.
That's not a knock against Jonas, that's me being blown away with the strides Tristan made.
Coming into the season we had no hope for his offense. At the end of the season he was looking like mini Antawn around the rim."Any asshole can be a father, I want to be a champion." - The League
"Doc, your signature is hysterical." - Distracted

Comparing apples to oranges. Thompson had a lock-out shortened rookie season after 1 year of NCAA ball. Jonas had an additional year of professional Euorpean ball to refine his game.
At the end of the day, they've both made big strides and maybe shown the draft class was a little stronger than previously imagined. Jonas should still be a better rebounder next to Bargnani though. That is the one thing that hasn't translated as well as it should have for him.
