My main request is that you get a guy with a no excuses attitude for his team. I would like a hunger to resonate throughout the team and not just while they're in the facilities. A coach who instills an identity for the players to take home with them. I'm getting tired of the country club atmosphere that seems to be alive and well in Cleveland.

Sorry Pat, you're not the guy.

Anyways, my view on Kelly is tough. He only knows one offense, and it is a damn cool one, but that would require such an overhaul on the offensive side of the ball. Don't you think? Obviously Weeden has to go, but to take that type of a risk with this team is...scary.

What about a Bleacher Report article about Omri Casspi?
I've been nothing but complementary of Weeden.

Bleacher Report article written by Tony Grossi about Omri Casspi.

For those wondering about Chip Kelly, his offense and how it will translate, here's a great article to read... Also an interesting tidbit about what he looks for in his QBs, (i.e. in relation to Weeden)...

Kelly is still my #1 choice for next HC..

I don't understand how you can't read that and want him on your team. He puts so much thought into every play. He really does anything that he can to exploit the defense. He manipulates their playcalling through his and definitely seems like he makes in game adjustments.

As far as what he looks for in a QB, it doesn't sound like Weeden is the worst scenario for him. On plays this year we've seen him have the ability to scramble away when necessary. The screens that they talk about would be good with our receivers that are more than capable of making the right block. I would be extremely happy with Kelly running things next year.

I don't think Weeden works in his offense. The quote was
"I look for a quarterback who can run and not a running back who can throw. I want a quarterback who can beat you with his arm,"
Weeden can beat you with his arm but outside of emergency scrambles, you can't count on him to run. Weeden can run the spread and no-huddle. He did that exclusively at OSU so there are no worries there. Kelly's offense is predicated on the defense respecting the ball be run by the RBs AND the QB. No defense is going to step up the line and respect Weeden on a designed run, he's simply not fast or elusive enough for it.

I think David Shaw just jumped to the top of the list.
Does Cleveland actually have good luck?

David Shaw i wouldnt be terribly upset with... Id perfer to go with a realtively unknown name rather than just throwing money at a bigger name coach ala Gruden and Cowher etc..

I think Shaw is a very good coach, but he's not near the top of my list of College Coaches.

Still love and really really want Kelly.

Im really intrigued by Chip Kelly but i dont think Weeden would Excel in his system IMO...I think he is a great Offensive mind but would he wanna come to Cleveland and wanna ressurect the Browns?? He didnt take the Tampa Job and people could argue that would have been a better job..

If we somehow landed Chip Kelly heres an intrestring scernaio, say Philly fires Andy Reid and they choose to release Vick due to His excessive Contract...This is a big IF i think it would be amazing to watch Vick run Chip Kellys offense just a thought..
