Swisher has 8 RBIs in 11 playoff series.

We'll worry about that once we get to the playoffs

Just so concerned with his decline...very scary given his four-year deal.

Praying he proves an exception to the rule.
You keep saying this and I keep forgetting to tell you his power #'s were better away than they were at Yankee stadium.

The other thing I love about Swisher is his ability to be patient and hit well when the count is in his favor

    Pitching Count:
    1-0: 1.995 OPS
    2-0: 1.162
    3-0: 2.228
    2-1: 1.132
    3-2: .938

And his splits are great, and I'm well aware of them.

But you're also taking into account age progression and the fact he's not protected by a couple of Hall of Famers anymore.

His patience and approach is everything this organization teaches, and that's wonderful.

But he's aging, not the same player he was and statistics show that he's not likely to get better with time.
Manziel's reps also insist it's a hoax -- and he's never made a penis video on "It's a Small World" or any other Disney ride.

He had 39 HR's at Home and 39 HR's away the past 3 years. Not sure Yankee Stadium gave him that much of an advantage.

It gives all hitters an advantage.

It's a short porch and the air flow always seems to carry out to right center especially as summer wears on.

That high dew point that keeps fans away from Progressive Field isn't going to help Swisher at all.

The good thing about the swisher deal Is when he gets a few years older they can slide him Into that DH spot assuming they have or get another productive out fielder. Okay I admit am impressed with the effort this off season and If they sink bad again I can not blame the Front office this time. I wi... will... Be watching this team again this year.

The Indians have upgraded 1B, RF, LF, the rotation, and the bullpen so far...and they aren't done.

    99 days until the opener!

Best post I have read in at least a couple days.

I follow the Tribe fairly closely, but I don't have much knowledge of their [now depleted] farm system. Am I mistaken in thinking they have some kind of stud prospect at SS who could some day replace Cabrera?

No, Francisco Lindor our #1 pick in 2011. Only hit .257 with 6 home runs, 42 RBIs and 27 SBs at Lake County but he's 19 years old

Lindor and Paulino are probably top 100 prospects in baseball, but their ETA is probably 2014 and I'm assuming Paulino won't be at SS at that time.

The outfield will be littered with Swisher Stubbs, just the way I like it....

    Year - HR - OPS
    2009 - 29, .869
    2010 - 29, .870
    2011 - 23, .822
    2012 - 24, .837

It's not as if he's fallen off a cliff regarding his power #'s. He had his 2nd highest OPS+ of his career just last year. His away OPS+ was 8 points higher (137) then at home
