    Jordan Bastian‏@MLBastian

Indians are nearing a Minor League contract (with spring invite) for utility man Ryan Raburn. Likely finalized next week.

Raburn isn't a bad depth signing.

Still plenty of interesting names out there:

    - Shawn Marcum - Little buzz around him...could really solidify the rotation
    - Joe Saunders - Another decent SP
    - Carlos Lee - Can play 1B or DH, decent bat
    - Jair Jurrjens - Good reclamation project
    - Travis Hafner - Could be platoon DH
    - Jim Thome - Could also platoon at DH
    - Erik Bedard, Carl Pavano, Roy Oswalt - Worth minor league deals

I feel like we are starting to get greedy, but I'd love one of Marcum, Jurrjens, and Oswalt, and one of Lee, Hafner, and Thome.

It sure seems like it, but I don't see why we couldn't still add one or two.

    Two Problems with that.

    1. Marcum Is out of reach.
    2. Hafner might be an option however I think we should find any other way to fill the DH Spot. Otherwise I like what I see there.

What five do you all see as our opening day rotation?

    I think it will be:

    Masterson
    Jimenez
    Bauer
    Myers
    Carrasco

Will be surprised if Bauer makes the roster out of spring training. I think the club will want to manage his innings early in the year, and he has work to do on his command. He was walking way too many guys last year even before he made his bigleague debut. He can still use time in the minors.

Plus, the club feels that McAlister can at least be competent in the 4 spot. Carrasco takes the 5th starter spot because it gives them a chance to rest him early in the season. Bauer's best chance would be if he shows great control in the spring and the club feels they can control Carrasco's innings better at AAA.
