Re: Anderson Varejao Trade Ideas
What do you guys think of a trade with the Celtics: Varejao/Casspi for Green/Sullinger/Lee? Upgrade at small forward plus some much needed depth.

Re: Anderson Varejao Trade Ideas
Its almost like the BR swiped those trade ideas from some of the bad posts in the RCF trade threads...

Re: Anderson Varejao Trade Ideas
Atlanta is rebuilding. There is no way they are going to trade Smith for Varejao and Gibson. Varejao is on the wrong side of 30 for a rebuild (especially a rebuild that is just starting), Gibson is only good for his expiring... but why use Gibson as an expiring when you have Josh Smith expiring? The other question is that Varejao and Gibson make 13 million (roughly the amount Josh Smith is owed), Varejao is also owed another 9+ million next year. Why would Atlanta take on another 10 million in salary?
It also doesn't make sense for the Cavs. Varejao is much more valuable than this trade... not because he is leaps and bounds better than Smith, but because you could get Josh Smith for much much cheaper. An expiring (like boobie or walton to make salaries work) and some of the plethora of draft picks we have would be enough to pull in Josh Smith.$50 RCF bet against cmstophe and jigo_oi that the Browns will make the playoffs in 2013.
Made in the Week 5 gameday thread.

Pretty sure that's why they invented per-game averages. Looking at any individual game will only tell you about one night in a player's career. Looking at their averages for the season (and career) paints a much more accurate picture of what you're going to get from that player.

Before a trade is mentioned, please look at player contracts. 85% of trades on this page will not fiscally work.

Re: Anderson Varejao Trade Ideas
All from http://www.hoopsrumors.com/2012/11/k...s-varejao.html
Anderson Varejao isn't likely to be moved, but if the Cavaliers were to consider a deal, it would have to include Luke Walton and his $6.09MM salary.
Similarly, if the Kings explored a Tyreke Evans trade, Sacramento would want to include either John Salmons or Francisco Garcia.
The Timberwolves would be open to moving Derrick Williams if they could land a good veteran player for him.
Kyler also names Hedo Turkoglu, Tayshaun Prince, Tyrus Thomas, and Wesley Johnson as trade candidates, though all those players could be tough to move due to their salaries.

Re: Anderson Varejao Trade Ideas
Not sure what numbers you are referencing, but the Cavs can absorb 10.2063 million dollars. So the Cavs (financially) would only need to part with Boobie if they wanted to trade for Josh Smith.
This is because Baron Davis' amnesty contract counts towards the cap floor, but not the cap ceiling.$50 RCF bet against cmstophe and jigo_oi that the Browns will make the playoffs in 2013.

Re: Anderson Varejao Trade Ideas
While there's no urgency in Toronto to move Jose Calderon, the Raptors are expected to explore deals. Kyler suggests that small forwards like Omri Casspi and Wilson Chandler are worth keeping an eye on as potential Raptors targets, adding that Chandler isn't in the Nuggets' long-term plan.
I, uh, I mean... is this a typo? If the Raptors want Omri Casspi, by God, let's deal.
Not sure why Luke Walton would hold up a Varejao deal, actually. I cant imagine we would walk away from a Lottery Pick and maybe a young player because said team doesnt want his expiring corpse. Far from a deal-breaker, right?

Casspi would fit into torontos euro style ball quite well

Re: Anderson Varejao Trade Ideas
Casspi and Ed Davis would work money wise, but I am not so sure they would be that dumb. To be honest I would be all for sending Casspi along with Walton for Landry Fields (I know he's struggling) and Ed Davis. Only way that gets done is because we take on Fields' contract.
