Cancer part of the surgery is over with great news. There is no sign of cancer in the lymph nodes. She is still is utterly as the plastic surgeon does his part.

That's great news! My relative that i told you about that was diagnosed in January had the same results. She got out 10 days ago. She was obviously very sore, but she is doing excellent now. I hope for the same for your wife.

Speaking of cancer, tragically, the iconic film critic Roger Ebert has passed away at the age of 70 after the cancer reappeared. Thanks, Rog, for all of your wonderful work over the years and devotion to cinema. Rest in peace and we'll see you at the movies.

    awful

he just wrote a blog post a couple days ago about how he was scaling back the amount of reviews but had plans to work on a few other projects like relaunching his website, a kickstarter for a new 'at the movies' series, and other stuff.

Pyro, I'm sorry to hear about your mom. I hope she's going to the Cleveland clinic.

An update on my wife - she starts chemotherapy next week, which will last until about labor day. She will follow that up with radiation, which should last until about thanksgiving. It's going to be a long year, but hopefully after this she won't have to deal with it anymore. The combination of chemotherapy and radiation is supposed to reduce the chance of recurrence from about 50% to about 12%. The tumor was just barely large enough that it was considered stage 2.

Jesus. I'm so sorry to hear buddy. Hang in there, be supportive, and remember she isn't the first nor will she be the last to go through this. Everything will be ok.

I commend Angelina Jolie for having a double mastectomy. She is able to be a spokesperson (with her fame), to educate women on this issue. She is also going to have her ovaries removed.

If I'm to find out my chance of breast cancer is greater than, I would probably have mine removed, as well.

Pyro, I hope your mother recovers from this.
