Not a black hole when he catches the ball. You aren't completely afraid this season like you were last season when you figured that everytime he touched the ball he was going to slop up some awful shot.

This is a really tough question. Has he grown? Probably. He's become a better passer. But, in the areas I was really looking for improvement, no he hasn't. He's spun his wheels in a lot of areas and that scares the shit out of me.

Just in overall flow of the game I think he is light years ahead of his rookie campaign.

He's helluva lot stronger although 10 more pounds wouldn't hurt. His passing has improved significantly. His free throw shooting is still up in the air, but it doesn't look good. I hope he figures out his shooting somehow. His defensive rebounding is also still a concern. We'll see where he ends up.

Obviously I wish our #4 pick would become a star, but I guess a Thompson-Zeller backup big duo isn't that bad.

I think Varejao will be paired with a big acquisition through free agency or trade as our starting frontline. You definitely cannot expect to start Thompson-Varejao and expect to contend.

He's grown some so far from what we saw in the first week of his rookie year. One of the problems is that his strengths right now are all things that Andy does as well or better, so there is a lot of duplicity on the court together, and not enough offensive diversity. In an ideal situation right now, he would be the third big, developing his game while spelling andy for 12-15 minutes a game and maybe sharing the court with him for another 8-12 minutes. We don't have that luxury with were our roster stands right now. Bigs like Tristan definitely can take longer to develop than guards who have been handling the ball and creating offense their whole lives, so hopefully what we're seeing so far early on is not the upper limit of what he can do offensively. Either way, this roster will need to develop or bring in a offensive low post threat to take a big step forward.

I dont think people realize how much andy has been improving offensively sinc e Scott gave him the green light or how much Mike Brown Held him back.

The team has score 100 plus points in 2 out of three games with the bench scoring like 15 a game. this does not sound like the cavs are experiencing the problems your describing.

He needs to stop coiling up every time he gets the ball near the basket. Whether it's a pass or an offensive rebound, he bends down to get the power when he jumps. Gotta stay big down low.
