Re: OBR Updates 11/6
What was wrong with Gannon? He didn't accomplish anything of note until he was coached by Gruden. He gets Gruden as a coach and immediately goes to the pro-bowl. Yes he had his best season after Gruden left, but that doesn't mean that Gruden didn't have anything to do with it. Just because the guy was old doesn't mean Gruden didn't develop him at that stage. I should point out that Bill Callahan continued to run the offense and plays that Gruden instilled. It's why Tampa kicked their asses in the Superbowl and Gannon threw 5 picks.
Gruden knows how to get a lot out of his QBs. As I said, there are plenty of reasons to not want Gruden. Saying he didn't get the most out of the guys he had is just being disingenuous. I share your concerns with his ability to develop young guys."Any asshole can be a father, I want to be a champion." - The League

Re: OBR Updates 11/6
Gannon never got a fair shake in Minnesota when Denny Green took over, and his career paid the price for it. He was starting to hit his stride with the Vikings the last season he was there and then got hurt and Sean Salisbury (yes, that Sean Salisbury) played well and won 3 of 4 games to finish the year, leaving Gannon useless and resulted in him being traded. He started something like 13 games over the next 4 seasons he was in the league. When he finally got a chance again, he took advantage of it and played like he had been in Minnesota before the injury. Guy would have been great for a lot more than 4 years if he didn't get his strings pulled by an unrelenting league in the middle of his career, no matter what team or coach he was playing for.
