Re: Mike Brown, Fired
http://www.rotoworld.com/player/nba/430/kobe-bryantA Rotoworld source indicates that Phil Jackson met with the Lakers at Staples Center last week.
Mike Brown has been relieved of his duties and Jackson's keynote speaker address at a Schwab conference has been canceled in Chicago for next week, pointing a lot of fingers at Jackson becoming the next coach of the Lakers. Jackson would have to come out of retirement and may ask for an arrangement limiting his travel, but the fact he reportedly met with the team last week is intriguing. Our guess is Phil Jackson will be the next coach of the Lakers. Stay tuned. Nov 10 - 7:53 AM
Oh, and as far as D'Antoni.....ostensibly he's recovering from knee replacement surgery and wouldn't be available until December.

Re: Mike Brown, Fired
Was just about to post the Phil Jackson rumor. I'd be shocked if Phil isn't the new coach. It appears his interest is why mike brown was fired so quickly.

The Lakers are moving quickly toward hiring Phil Jackson as their next coach, with one person in the organization calling it a "95%" chance he will return for a third tour with the team.

@WojYahooNBA: As Lakers meet w/ Phil Jackson today, they've declined meetings w/ any other candidates, source says. "They're all in on Phil," source says.

Re: Mike Brown, Fired
Lakers were idiots for hiring the guy but at least they were smart enough to realize they made a mistake and fire him right away..... unlike us. The decision to hire and keep Brown around for years severely crippled our chances of ever winning a title.

Will be good to have the Zen master back in the league. This is shaping up to be quite an interesting season.
