Don't play like shit the entire game and you won't have to worry about sitting out in a close game, ESPECIALLY vs. a team that really isn't all that great like the Pistons.

    F- tonight.

Scott has the weirdest/shittiest rotations and group of players he puts on the floor at one time... Just bizarre.

Yeah, I think this is long overdue, and playing time is the ultimate motivator...

I feel bad for Cavs fans who were at the game, but I also feel bad for them having to watch most of the team just go through the motions, too.

    It is teaching

It's teaching if you don't play D there are consequences for it which entails finding yourself on your ass, on the bench.

It's not because they don't know how to play D it's because they don't want to play D. Big difference and a lesson like that can only be taught during a game.

When has Kyrie Irving ever shown you that he can play defense?

It's not that he can't play defense, it's that he goes out there on a nightly basis and puts in very little effort on that side of the ball. That is why coach Scott punished them because as a group they went out there and coasted and got ran out of the gym on the defensive side of the ball. Its a simple message, play hard or sit your ass on the bench. It needed to be done, and thankfully Kyrie knows that the team feeds off of his energy and he can't have off games energy wise. As a fan I would like to watch a game where the entire starting 5 for once gave a shit about defense. If you're all about winning, which by your constant calls for coaches to be fired, you are, then this move is great for the long run.

The problem is Irving, Waiters,Zeller and yes Tee Tee do not play good "team" defense. Tee Tee and even Waiters play some good man d, but you have to play as a team to really benefit and hold teams down.

This is not atypical with young rookies and 2nd year players. Irving is not a God.

But our defensive woes starts mainly with the guards imo. People just blow past them, causing TT and Zeller to leave their mans to provide help, which results in opposing players open all over the floor. Other than that, we switch too much. I'm tired of seeing our bigs guarding opposing point guards on every play.

Right. And Scott can do some different things strategically, but fighting around a screen is fighting around a screen. You can't coach someone to do it. You just go do it.
Patiently waiting for the day I can finally say "Daniel Gibson is no longer a Cavalier." It will be glorious.

Not that he was great, but he at least gave a fuck tonight on defense. I liked his effort.

Against OKC, the Cavs guards were better at both, and there was more consistent help (esp. on Westbrook on the wing). At some points, they looked like they had a scheme for dealing with some of the OKC tendencies. A little better scheme and a whole lot better effort from a lot of players.

OKC still scored 110, but perhaps that had also to do with pace, free throws, transition, and the fact they're really talented.

Yeah, Byron's got balls when it comes to sending messages to his players. It's good that he's showing Kyrie early on that he's not above the system. Mike Brown never would've had the balls to do something like that.

    A+

There have been up's and down's and a lot of second guessing but the development of our young guns has been apparent. Kudos to Byron and his staff.....
