Everything I was hearing in the Bay before the draft was in favor of either Barnes or Waiters, depending on who falls. When Cavs talking heads say that some teams had Waiters ranked very high, the Warriors are one of those teams.

The key to Barnes will be outside of just scoring one on one and rebounds. These are the things he has been doing very well since high school. I'm watching how well he defends and if he can get over being an Al Harrington offensively.

I'll still take the guy who will score in 1on1 and pick and roll situations and can set up his teammaes over barnes everyday of the week. Barnes is grabbing rebounds and spotting up and is playing with good talent around him

As it looks now, hypothetically speaking, the Cavs could have gone in several different directions it seems. I don't know if we should assume there was only one right choice to be made.

It might (emphasize might, bc I don't know) turn out that for example Barnes, Drummond, Waiters, and whoever else would have been a good choice for the Cavs at #4 and that picking one doesn't exclude another from being a good pick. Trying to put them in a linear order may not make much sense if they're all successful to a certain degree, especially if they're doing different things.

A possible result of this, in the end it might be less about these players success as much as how Grant figured each would fit in Cleveland. You only get to pick one. He opted for a dominant two dimensional backcourt. Hard to complain at this point.

On a team like the Cavs, there was likely more than one good pick available to us. Not saying I know who those people are at this point, but it was a "deep draft" and we picked 4th. Lots of guys after #4 will likely see success in the NBA as well.

Didn't really understand why the Cavs and most of the fan base was so high on Barnes, saying it would take a top 3 pick to acquire him and the chances weren't likely. But once his draft stock took a major hit, the Cavs and the fan base decided he wasn't the best pick. Always thought he was the best pick for the Cavaliers to make at their position.

Really didn't understand it. The guy is going to average 25 points a game for his career on good percentages, and also pull down some boards to boot. He's going to be an all-star forward for several years. I was pretty disappointed when the Cavs went with Waiters, but I also don't hate Waiters by any means. He's going to be a serious offensive threat next to Irving, but Barnes will overall have the better career in my eyes.

All players are great when their shot is falling, when he goes back into a cold spell it will be interesting to see how he copes, can he defend? will he make plays for others?

If everything else was equal, that would be important, but at this point we simply don't know where either of these guys are going to end up. Neither are likely going to be superstars.
