Christmas Gift Ideas
I figured there should be a thread where people post what they bought their friends and family as well as what they are hoping to receive. I never know what to put on my Christmas list. Last year I ended up asking for some books that I thought looked interesting (..still haven't read any of them). I usually end up getting my mom some type of kitchen appliance, my dad some books (not sure if he reads them..), and my sister some clothes that she specifically picked out and sent the links to me to buy online.
Post some of your gift ideas and wishlist

Re: Christmas Gift Ideas
Got my dad a golf ball monogram thing from target...
Getting my mom something from the food section of Fab.com. She likes to cook. I will probably also send her a picture frame with my newborn.
If you have a stock market junky, you should get them a book called The New Money Management by Ralph Vince. I am reading it right now and it is fantastic, but you have to like math or game theory. The premise is that we spend entirely too much time looking for the right stock, and too little time dedicated to the position size and controlling volatility. It's fascinating if you (or some giftee) are inclined to digest such minutiae."Why not come and chat with me," said the Grasshopper, "instead of toiling and moiling in that way?"
"I am helping to lay up food for the winter," said the Ant, "and recommend you to do the same." -Aesop

Re: Christmas Gift Ideas
All I really want is some money to supplement my car downpayment.
My grandpa is loaded, he has everything he could ever want and he's incredibly hard to shop for. I always want to get him something great because he's been like a father to me. Well this year I figured it out. He loves to talk about his days in the military and tell stories about when he flew a bomber during WWII. Well I found a rare book written by a guy specifically about my grandpa's company. He's going to love this thing."Any asshole can be a father, I want to be a champion." - The League

Re: Christmas Gift Ideas
I got my parents a new shopvac and am going to get them a Tablet.
Girlfriend I plan on getting her some zombie shit and an engagement ring (probably will propose in the next couples months, not on Christmas)
Getting my brother a Rush flag and Leinenkugel's t-shirt.
Since I got Halo 4 and Black Ops II and Expendables 2 on Black Friday...The only things I really want to get is some giftcards (gas giftcards are usually nice), The Warriors DVD and some clothes will do.

Re: Christmas Gift Ideas
I never got the obsession with purses. They want this one, this year, and then another one the next year. I'm not a girly girl, so I don't get the mass amounts of money being spent on a purse. I carry a $50 wristlet, that's all I need. Although I am very upscale with my perfume. For christmas, last year, I bought myself 3 different perfumes. D&G Light Blue is a favorite of mine.

I think I'm getting the wife a watch this year. It's like buying jewelry only cheaper.

Re: Christmas Gift Ideas
Me and my girlfriend decided no gifts this Christmas (She was the one who brought it up) She says Christmas these days is all about who can buy the best gift, and not about family and getting together for the holidays. Instead we are just going to spend more time doing stuff together. We just bought tickets for the Trans-Siberian Orchestra Christmas thing on the 26. Were going to go out to a nice dinner a couple of times. Gonna hit a Cavs game. Maybe Bed, Bath, & Beyond, I don't know, I don't know if we'll have enough time.
Also, am I the only one who likes these Christmas lights?

Re: Christmas Gift Ideas

The Christmas tree. 7 footer. It's a pain to put up, but in the end, it looks pretty damn good. I get the dubious honor of keeping the tree when I move, next summer. I don't know how a 7 foot tree will work in an apartment.
I like the big bulbs. There are a few on the tree, but it's the bubble lights that make all the difference.Your body is my ballpoint pen, and your mind is my new best friend.
