Hey, how about we don't destroy religion of all types? If people don't want to believe in God, then don't make them. If you do want to believe in God, don't antagonize them.

Both sides have been far too annoying for far to long. Hell, if it were up to me, religion talk would be against TOS for this site. The Kansas City Star has an exclusive story with chilling new details concerning the final moments of both Kasandra Perkins and Jovan Belcher, gleaned from multiple police sources as the investigation continues.

Police reportedly found Belcher asleep in his Bentley at 7:00 a.m. Saturday morning, near the Power and Light District where he had been partying the night before. They determined he was fit to drive and sent him home. Yelling between Perkins and him began shortly after he arrived home, around 8:00 a.m. His mother heard Belcher yell something like "You can't talk to me like that!" and then gunshots.

Seconds after fatally shooting his longtime girlfriend, Kansas City Chiefs linebacker Jovan Belcher leaned over her in their master bathroom, said he was sorry and kissed her on the forehead.

His mother, who heard gunfire as she stood in the kitchen, rushed to her son's bedroom and watched his remorseful goodbye.

Belcher apologized to his mother, kissed his 3-month-old daughter and fled his rented home in the 5400 block of Crysler Avenue in his Bentley.

Belcher then took off for the Kansas City Chiefs practice facility where he was first met by general manager Scott Pioli.

Belcher stepped out of his Bentley with a gun pointed at his own head, police said.

"I did it," he said, according to police. "I killed her."

Later, another team employee arrived and Romeo Crennel and linebackers coach Gary Gibbs soon followed.

As Pioli and Crennel tried to reason with Belcher, the men heard police sirens closing in. Belcher then walked a few steps away with the gun still pointed at his head.

"I got to go," Belcher reportedly said. "I can't be here."

Belcher knelt behind a vehicle and made the sign of the cross across his chest before firing a single bullet into his head.

Police speculate that youth, financial issues and arguments over the relationship played a role in what happened. The Kansas City Chiefs were reportedly aware of the issues and were providing counseling for the couple.

I don't want to get into a political debate, but I just don't think this guy makes these two incredibly rash decisions without a gun involved. With a knife, a physical altercation would've been necessary with his girl and also some time for regret/remorse (he kissed her saying sorry after shooting) before doing the deed and I don't think he'd have had the balls to stab himself when cops were coming. Pure speculation, buy my take on things.

When I read he had a Bentley, I just thought : You get a little bit of money, and blow it, completely. This happens far too often. A football players career isn't long, at all. He got a little bit of money and decided to live far beyond his means. Tragic/unnecessary outcome.

It's a valid question raised and I want to answer it from a perspective of someone who holds a CHL and carries often. What exactly, though, are you expecting? Do you want ALL guns to be banished - man...so would I, but it's NEVER going to happen as long as people exist (at least as we know them). So, in a perfect world, if he were NOT in possession of a handgun, do we think this incident wouldn't happen...or you're suggesting it may happen different - which is definitely warranted. However, the situation itself does not change. This decision was probably weeks, months, or even years in the making (but I'm only speculating). My point is that access to guns (whether or not he obtained them legally [apparently he did]) should not factor into incidents such as these. These types of scenarios happen all the time (murder) WITHOUT the use of guns. I understand you're undecided on gun control,...just 3 short years ago I had never even seen a gun in person (I was 25 at the time). I have learned that these TOOLS - and I genuinely want to point out that a fully loaded weapon is a tool until SOME PERSON decides to USE IT AS A WEAPON AGAINST A PERSON - are vital to the successful defense of a peaceful citizen....they don't call it the great equalizer for nothing. I choose not to rely on police as my first line of defense. I hope many of you do as well.

PS - I can propose that any incident where someone killed someone with a gun, the other person could have defended themselves with one. So, the idea that all guns being eliminated might be a novel idea, but it will never happen. You can also infuse as many what-if scenarios as you like....it will still not change my opinion that a peaceful human being should not protect him or herself, especially in this day and age. Think of your kids....man I don't have kids (yet). I feel safe (and I really am..how much so is up for debate) taking protection into my own hands & taking it seriously....I can't image having kids and having some no-good POS threaten my family, if for the slim slim chance that were to happen (but you never know). Unfortunately, it's hard to even convince your own family sometimes of the dangers that exist. However, I would certainly hope that everyone could get through life without the fear or the actual use of guns in a real life scenario.
