Re: Cavs looking to trade Daniel Gibson?
That logic makes absolutely no sense. Where a player is drafted is meaningless when you're trying to calculate their value, especially when they are veterans like Gibson (who, by still being in the league, has already surpassed the expectations from where he was drafted).
I'm not saying Gibson is worth a first-rounder, but rather that it's dumb to assume he's only worth a second because that's where he was drafted almost a decade ago.

Re: Cavs looking to trade Daniel Gibson?
Boobie's contract is expiring and he provides a replaceable skill to the team...If he wants to resign for a lower price OK....but if he walked, I dont care. Hes worth more than a contender's 2nd. But not worth a 1st.

Its time to trade Boobie Gibson
He no longer fits into this team. He is a half court player. He i shooting the ball well but thats about it. his pick and roll defense is atrocious. he is getting schooled in isolation. The game is too fast for him.
I like Gibson. i think he is a solid player but he doesnt seem to fit on the court and Scott gives him more responsibilities than what he should have.
He doesnt have any chemistry with Gee and one of them has to go.

Re: Its time to trade Boobie gibson
Yeah, no. What do you get for him? A contender would give up a 2nd for him, or in other words a player that will never be as good as Boobie. Still young, still one of the best shooters in the league, his defense is much improved, he is a solid presence around the young guys. Seems like a good message to the young kids that "Hey, if you do everything we ask of you and more, give 7 years to the organization, always talk about how much you love the team and the town, well then you're getting traded". Keep him, he will always be useful as long as he can shoot the 3, everything else he adds is just gravy.

Re: Its time to trade Boobie gibson
So the Cavs, who are obviously not in contention this year anyway and already have a serious lack of production offensively from their bench, should trade him just to trade him?
Sounds good to me.

Re: Its time to trade Boobie gibson
Boobie doesn't care anymore, I'm dead serious - He's just worried about keeping his family setup, he moved ALL OF THEM out the hood down here.
He and his Wife are getting paid regardless, he's got his paper and his family is out the hood - MISSION COMPLETE
I won't lie... I'm East Side born and raised (Fairfax) - I don't blame him lol Hell, I'm working on getting my Mother, Sister, 3 Nephews and 1 Niece down to Houston once I land that "BIG" job.Formerly "Mycah Leonhart"

Re: Its time to trade Boobie gibson
Well you're not really gonna get squat for him, cause he's simply not valuable or really any good...

Re: Its time to trade Boobie Gibson
What's the point then? A young, rebuilding, non-playoff team is not going to trade for him. So, you're going to trade him for a contender's second round pick? A pick that is likely in the 50-60 range? We don't need picks like that at this point. We have a roster full of guys like that, plus an entire DLeague franchise devoted to guys in that mold. Whatever you think of Boobie, he's worth more than that. And if he leaves and doesn't want to resign at a reasonable price....buh-bye, Boobs.
