Steam Christmas Sale
If you want to buy lots of good games for really cheap, now is the time. This sale goes from the 20th (two days ago) until January 5th.
http://store.steampowered.com/
Some deals you should check out right now:
Dishonored - 29.99 - Basically the best game of 2012. Buy that shit.
Darksiders Franchise - 13.59 - Two great action/adventure games for a super low price.
Psychonauts - 2.49 - If you haven't played this game, you suck at life.
Mirror's Edge - 4.99 - Pretty awesome first person platformer.
Borderlands 2 - 29.99 - Half off an awesome FPS/RPG.
Hitman: Absolution - 24.99 - Great deal on a fun action/stealth game.
BioShock - 4.99 - Again, if you haven't played this game, you suck at life.
And that's just two days into the sale. New games go on sale every day around 1pm EST, along with regular flash sales and community choice sales. This is the time to stock up on all the games you missed during the past few years.

Re: Steam Christmas Sale
Just that you have to have Steam open to play most of the games on it. Steam is essentially a form of DRM, but it's also a great program for keeping track of all of your PC games (most games are sold on Steam with a few exceptions) and playing online games with your friends.
Same. Too many good deals to pass up usually. It's crazy how cheap companies are willing to sell games when they get a much bigger slice of the profit.

Re: Steam Christmas Sale
Now is a good time to buy Limbo. On sale for 2.49 as a flash sale. Awesome puzzle platformer game with fantastic art design.
Quantum Conundrum is on sale for 3.74 as well. If you liked Portal/Portal 2 it's kind of like those games minus the outstanding writing and comedy. Still a solid puzzle game, though, and definitely worth the price of admission.

Re: Steam Christmas Sale
Got Limbo off one of the past Humble Indie Bundles.
So far, I've picked up Dishonored, the Darksiders bundle, Torchlight II (for me and a friend), and bought that same friend Condemned.
I fucking love Steam.Tribe Time = Now O'Clock

Re: Steam Christmas Sale
I already had Dishonored, but I did buy the Darksiders bundle (which for some reason was cheaper than just buying Darksiders 2 stand-alone) and the Natural Selection 4-pack to distribute to a few friends.
FYI, there's a new Humble Bundle right now: Snapshot, The Binding of Isaac, Closure, Shank 2, and Indie Game: The Movie. You also get Legend of Grimrock and Dungeon Defenders if you pay the average (6.40 as of this post) or more.

Can't really go wrong with that list. Shank 2 is worth 6.40 by itself.

Re: Steam Christmas Sale
Was out all day with friends watching football yesterday, but here were the deals (valid until tomorrow at 1pm):
- Chivalry: Medieval Warfare - 12.49
- ANNO 2070 - 19.99
- Super Street Fighter IV - 13.49
- Portal Franchise - 6.24
- Saints Row: The Third - 7.49
- Carrier Command: Gaea Mission - 24.99
If you haven't played Portal/Portal 2, 6.24 is an insanely reasonable price. Portal is one of those games that I think will stand the test of time. Brilliantly written and designed and entirely unique. The second game is obviously not as unique, but they dialed everything else up to 11. It's got the best writing and voice acting I've ever experienced in a video game, along with two of the best characters (Glados and Wheatley) you'll ever meet in a game.
Saints Row is another great value at 7.49. The game is totally ridiculous, but it's a lot of fun and there's a ton of shit to do. I just wish I had more time to play it.
Also, Bastion is 3.74 for another half hour and is a great action/RPG.
