Re: Grand Theft Auto V
Whenever I don't follow the rules of the road in GTA, I always seem to run down a damn flock of cops that are doing nothing. I can never just hit a normal person. Every single time I veer off the road, boom, three star wanted level.

Re: Grand Theft Auto V
I hate the fact on GTA IV if you go to the airport runways and you automatically get 4 stars....all the other GTA games didnt give a damn about being in the airport

Re: Grand Theft Auto V
Going online in GTA IV was awful. It was just little kids bitching about the airport. The online sucked and without a co-op it will always suck. It's way too serious on single player too. I don't want to have to hang out with my characters "friends" or go hang out with my character's "cousin". The worst part is that when you ignored their phone calls, they started hating you. Absolutely an awful part of the game and if you're going to let me use a computer. At least let me click on the porn ads for shits and giggles.
The best mission of GTA was the bank heist.
That's why Saints Row 3 was 200X better then GTA.OU... OH YEAH!!!!

Re: Grand Theft Auto V
I think the multiplayer was fun. I only did the free roam so that's probably why.

Re: Grand Theft Auto V
I thought GTA IV was wildly overrated. The driving was way clunkier than it should have been, the story took itself far more seriously than anyone playing it would have (especially given the sarcastic radio shows and ads), and as you mentioned the "friend" system was completely retarded. I don't want a Grand Theft Auto game to simulate a real life that is apparently far more boring than my own (aside from the missions where you murder hundreds of people, of course).
The biggest misstep of GTA IV was straying too far away from the over-the-top brilliance of Vice City and San Andreas.

Re: Grand Theft Auto V
Loved the more realistic/less slapstick approach of GTA4.
If they cut out the stupid stuff like phone calls and dating and all that, but keep everything else that made GTA4 feel like a real story, I'll be happy. The artist formerly known as cmstophe

Re: Grand Theft Auto V
It all comes down to storyline and adding something new/different to the game.
That's why Vice City and San Andreas were the best games of the series. They were exciting and the storyline was amazing.
I've played both games at least 3 times each. GTA IV wasn't the worse but I didn't care to play it after I beat it the first time.
Hopefully they've learned this time around.

Re: Grand Theft Auto V
I'm perfectly OK with delaying a game's release date if there are things that need to be fixed. I want a complete, functional game when I get it, not some half baked game with a bunch of bugs.
Put me on board with the people who though GTA IV was a bit of a let down compared to Vice City and San Andreas. I could never really get into IV as much as those two previous ones. Not sure why.Scott_Raab Scott Raab
Odd. Saw a basketball team playing like it cared, and winning, in front of fans who don't need fan lessons. In Cleveland, the anti-MIA.

Re: Grand Theft Auto V
To me GTA IV was lacking likeable characters and also had very repetitive missions. I got so bored of doing the same thing over and over again (drive here, pick up friend/cousin, drive somewhere else, kill a bunch of people, return friend back to home) Hopefully the new one is better.

Re: Grand Theft Auto V
I have GTA IV and had to stop playing it because at a certain point in the missions, it stops and freezes and won't let you get any farther. It wasn't really that far into the story either. I don't know if that is a glitch that can be fixed, or has been fixed, but I haven't played it since. And this is on PS3 btw.

Re: Grand Theft Auto V
One thing I hope they bring back is the all the crazy cheats the old GTAs used to have. Pedestrians rioting with guns would have offered me endless hours of pleasure from GTA IV. I didn't mind the realistic approach they took with IV, but I really hope they add more outrageous cheats like in San Andreas.

Not going to lie, I laughed every time I heard: "Cousin... Roman lets go look at some American titties!!!". However, about 5 seconds later I was annoyed.
