His level of inexperience is really concerning, on all levels...
If someone wants to overreach on O'Brien, good for them, I just hope it isn't Haslam and Banner.

The guy wins 8 games with THIRTY seniors on his team, in an awful Big 10 and the media treats him on par with Nick Saban? It's laughable. The rumor last year was his contract would not even be renewed by the Patriots. We want a guy who was going to get fired as OC for New England? All because he won 8 games in the Big 10? GTFO.

I could be talked into a few different hires, but if they hire Bill O'Brien, unreal. It'd be such an awful hire of epic proportions...

John Harbaugh wasn't even a coordinator.
Mike Tomlin was a DC for 1 season in Minn
Jim Harbaugh was only a college coach. no NFL
Cowher was a DC for 2 seasons before getting the Pittsburg job.

If you want experienced guys I hear Romeo Crennel is looking for a job.

I don't need a guy with NFL experience.....I'd just prefer a guy that wasn't about to be fired 2 years ago. At least Harbaugh would have had the option of staying in his role in Philly had he not taken the Baltimore head coaching gig.

At this point, for me personally, I believe almost nothing that either Haslam or Banner have to say.

TheOBR has learned Mike Lombardi is NOT a serious candidate for a position of influence with the Cleveland Browns at the time of this writing.

TheOBR has learned Jimmy Haslam while in NE talked about the league, team structure and types of play.

NE Offensive coordinator JHosh McDaniels was discussed, but we have heard there was more discussion regarding former NE assistant and OC Bill O'Brien.

There is a belief Haslam and Kraft have discussed and the Browns are unlikely to make a move on the NE OC.

Haslam wants to make a HUGE splash and money isn't an issue. I really don't think he wants to go either the O'Brien or McDaniels route. It's much more likely he tries to lure Saban, Kelly, Gruden, etc. than go to a fallback option which is what O'Brien and McDaniels are.

Banner said head coach will have a "greater role" in player personnel, why the HC will be hired first. Haslam said HC will have control over "all roster decisions."

Got to imagine they're trying to put the full court press on Chip Kelly since that was one of the things he desired from an nfl coaching gig.seems to be in line with haslam's desire to make a big name "splash" hire

As if I needed another reason to want Chip Kelly here...

You also couldn't play baseball. So apparently that means he cant run the zone read. Get rid of Weeden while you're at it Mr. Haslam.

And Weeden is being as closed minded as many on here who don't want Kelly. The quality desired from him is his offensive genius, not just that particular offensive scheme. The guy will adjust to an NFL offense and be successful.

Watched the Banner Haslam presser. Our reporters are complete idiots. Who hires them to ask these questions?

#Browns Heckert told PD he expects Haslam and Banner to retain the rest of the personnel staff. They're under contract too.
Oh good, not only are you bringing in your guys, but now you're forcing them to use someone else's staff.

That is a recipe for success if I've ever seen it.

Maybe future franchise quarterback Thad Lewis can run it.

    @MoveTheSticks

I don't see how the Browns will attract a top personnel guy. No power.
    Danger.
