Poll: Fred and A.C. as commentators
Fred McLeod and Austin Carr have done an honorable job calling games during the Dan Gilbert era.
It doesn't feel like that will change, but this poll is asking if Cavs fans would prefer it stay this way, or will it some day be time for a new voice (or two)?

Would like AC to continue with a new partner? Are you kidding me? McLeod has been phenomenal.

Re: Poll: Fred and A.C. as commentators
While I did like Reghi, overall the Cavs are pretty lucky. I watch most of the games on League Pass and they are a better duo than a vast majority of the other crews out there.
I do miss that McLeod doesn't say "rim job" 3 times a game any more.

Fred and AC are great-leave it just as it is. They make the games even more fun and exciting to watch.

Re: Poll: Fred and A.C. as commentators
The shtick has grown a bit tiresome throughout the years but perhaps I'm just watching too much Cavaliers basketball. Fred is aight. He plays the straight man foil about as well as we can hope. A.C. is off limits. He leaves when he wants to leave.
I mean, if Fred limits his "[chuckle] [followed by pointless statement]" thing and A.C. stops saying "they're beginning to understand _____" after every momentum swing in favor of the Cavs...they're top-5 commentators.

Re: Poll: Fred and A.C. as commentators
I used to hate Fred, but he's gotten so much better. He's one of the best in the league now. Really caries the duo.
AC, is pretty terrible at his job, but that's why he's entertaining. Wouldn't change a thing there.
However, Campy Russell is fucking horrible. And there's no doubt about it.

Re: Poll: Fred and A.C. as commentators
Maybe I'm in the minority, and by the early returns of this poll I am, but AC is pretty painful to listen to. The whole "Deep! in the insert arena name" line was funny at the start but now I find that and all of his other catch phrases unbearable. You can tell he has a lot of basketball knowledge but he doesn't verbalize it well. Fred holds it together well and I've certainly warmed to him over the years, but I find myself turning the game off often times because of AC. I don't listen to other broadcasts much so I'm no judge of how they rate as a duo, but for me, I'd like to see a new color man next season. I know that probably won't happen but I'm ready for a change.

Nine times out of ten, Dan Gilbert makes good decisions.

Despite the "dotting the i" shit that I cant stand, I love both Fred an AC, they make the game much funnier.

Love em both, but I think AC only sticks around for another season or two. The man has been slowly losing it over the course of the past couple of years.

I'd love for a new team to come in. These guys plus losing make it a very hard product to listen to/watch.

Re: Poll: Fred and A.C. as commentators
Having to watch the Cavs on League Pass down here in Atlanta I get to experience the announcers of the other teams in the league on a regular basis. It's obvious that to most of them it's their job and they like doing it. But with Fred and AC, it's obvious they love doing it. Huge difference, and they make Cavs games so much more fun and entertaining to watch... especially when you know that at any moment AC's going to erupt with some excited, nonsensical botch-job of a common saying.

You can tell that both Fred and AC are fans first and announcers second, and I wouldn't trade them for anyone.Founding Member of the RCF Crazy Donators Club
