I can't help but to feel bad for Massaquoi. Dude wasn't a bad receiver, just couldn't stay healthy. His brain has probably turned into slush after all the concussions he has sustained.
If I'm Mo Mass I take a serious consideration of a civil law suit against James Harrison. Guy literally maliciously ruined his career with illegal hits. Don't even know if he is allowed to under the NFL contracts they sign, but I'd look into it if I were him.

Was watching NFL Network this morning and with Tom Brady signing an extension, the Patriots are making Mallet available. Anybody think there's still a chance we bring in Mallet to compete with Weeden

My guess is if we were to go after him we'd only offer 2014 mid round picks. Something like a 3rd in 2014 and if he plays and performs well the pick can be moved up to a 2 or something along those lines.

I don't see them making our 3rd or 4th available without having a 2nd rounder this season. Banner all but said over the weekend that he doesn't envision trading picks this year unless it's a trade down scenario where we add another pick.

The rumor is that the Pats won't take anything less that a 2nd rounder, so if we do trade for him, it's not going to be for competition.

I imagine NE will only trade Mallet for the right offer. He is a young, cheap, and capable backup at a key position with years left on his contract. They may be looking to maximize his value now that they know he is only a backup and not a potential starter if Brady retired early. But for them it makes no sense to dump him just to dump him. If belicheat says 2nd round or higher and nobody bites then they just won't trade him.

If by capable backup you mean he's capable of sitting on the bench behind Tom Brady and doing nothing... then yes. But the reality is he was a 3rd round pick who has a career statline of 1-4 for 17 yards and a pick. Maybe he's a capable backup... maybe not. But they sure as hell aren't getting a 2nd rounder for him.

Edit: He is definitely capable of kneeling, as evidenced by his 8 career rushes for -9 yards

Can't wait for him to just start spewing about all of the shit he didn't like here. He's a "me" guy and will probably have a book called Josh Cribbs: My Days In Football Siberia where he'll be sure to detail all of the little intricacies of what it is like to be the "only good player on a perennial loser". Just wait.

Don't let the door hit you on the way out.

I liken Cribbs to Grady Sizemore. Was solid for a very short period of time, has absolutely sucked ever since, does nothing but hurt the team off the field, cannot justify making even a fraction of the contract he has, developed this massive following of fairweather/female fans who don't know shit about sports.

I could go on but I won't. Bring on Travis Benjamin at KR/PR.

    Cribbs is Sizemore now?

That's an affront to Sizemore. He was actually good then got hurt.

Cribbs was never good, just a great special teams player.

I'm about as big of a Cribbs hater as you're going to find... but as bad as he has been lately, you can't tell me the guy didn't make a serious impact. I don't care if it was just on special teams. Shit, the one year (07 or 09, don't care enough to look up), he accounted for 20% of our team's touchdowns. Dude was an impact player. No sense in wasting any more keystrokes on him and Sizemore though.

Yeah, I understand that he has not played much in 2 years, I think that comes with having a quarterback that doesn't blow huge amounts of ass.

Basically I see 3 possibilities with Mallet.
1.) somebody offers a 2nd rounder, he gets traded. *Not likely*
2.) nobody offers a 2nd rounder, the price does not come down, he remains on NE *Very Likely*
3.) nobody offers a 2nd rounder, the price comes down to 4th-5th, they find a taker *Possible*

But unless Mallet is a tire fire (no evidence that he is) why would belicheat bail on him after 2 years by getting a lower round pick for him? Why not keep him around as insurance in case Brady goes down again like he did a few years ago? If they were willing to trade him for anything lower than a 2nd-3rd it would throw up a big red-flag to me if I were an NFL GM.
