Re: Memphis Grizzlies trade Rudy Gay to Toronto
So get a load of this column from Woj. I'm posting for the obvious shots he takes at Hollinger. HOnestly, I hate when guys do this w/o just saying "I don't like this guy." Seemed petty.

"Levien is making these deals based largely on the recommendations of John Hollinger, a statistician who worked for a cable sports company. The San Antonio Spurs once used him as a consultant and regretfully took his advice to sign a free agent named Jackie Butler. It was such a disaster, the Spurs had to attach Luis Scola to a trade to get Butler out of town."Patiently waiting for the day I can finally say "Daniel Gibson is no longer a Cavalier." It will be glorious.

Re: Memphis Grizzlies trade Rudy Gay to Toronto
OJ Mayo split time with Sam Young.
This team is much deeper down loan.
What happens if Lebron goes down? Royally screwed.
What happens if Durant goes down? Royally screwed.
What happens if one of the top options on most teams goes down? Royally screwed.
However, if one of Z-Bo or Gasol went down, Memphis is NOW in much better shape as they can roll out a Gasol, E Davis, Arthur front court.

Re: Memphis Grizzlies trade Rudy Gay to Toronto
That's because Rudy hasn't been playing well too. The floor now opens up a lot more now that he's gone, ZBo and Marc Gasol are going to be a little more effective. Tayshaun Prince will be good for their team, I'm on board with the guys saying that Memphis did a great one here. IMO their next biggest challenge is to have the new pieces gel with their nitty gritty core. Conley's ability to run the team will be tested.

Re: Memphis Grizzlies trade Rudy Gay to Toronto
I think the pieces fit better now for Memphis too. I would have loved to trade Speights and Gay for Prince and Davis. Prince is the kind of guy who fits in and is a starter, but doesn't really take shots from anyone. He only tries ISO when things aren't going well. Davis is athletic, skilled, and smart. He could be a really nice piece going forward. Davis has more upside remaining than Gay and will replace Zbo when his contract is up.

Re: Memphis Grizzlies trade Rudy Gay to Toronto
No way is Davis going to be coming off bench for long with how well he was doing this year, he's their PF of the future and I firmly believe that Memphis is not done with retooling their team. I believe Zach Randolph is the next to go with his age, they'll get nice pieces back for him such as a much needed scoring 2 guard or small forward.
