Re: #6's Return?
Brussard is quite possibly the worst source on the face of the earth. All of his speculation is wrong 99.999% of the time. His shtick is that he speculates both sides of the argument so that when something does happen he goes "See! See! I said that a week ago." He's fucking retarded.
$50 RCF bet against cmstophe and jigo_oi that the Browns will make the playoffs in 2013.

I pretty much ignore the rest of any post that starts with "Broussard said"...

Re: #6's Return?
I've stayed out of these threads for the most part, don't think I've actually made a post in here.
Ignoring my feelings, and fan feelings. If we have the cap to sign LeBron, and he opts out... He is an absolute idiot to choose any other team over us from a basketball standpoint. You look at this team... Our four pieces (Kyrie, Dion, TT, this years pick) will all be under 23. Kyrie will be the best point guard in the world, and a top five player. If he wants to go to another big market like LA or New York, fine. But from an on the court standpoint? There will not be a team better than ours who can make a run at LeBron, end of story.

Re: #6's Return?
Sure the NBA has changed... but you can't hand pick which eras you can compare and which ones you can't. When Jordan played zone defenses were illegal and hand checking was prevalent. So LeBron is playing in a completely different NBA than Jordan played in.
You're ruining your own argument.$50 RCF bet against cmstophe and jigo_oi that the Browns will make the playoffs in 2013.

Re: #6's Return?
GOATs will always shift towards the more recent generation of players. Thats because the people arguing GOATs want to talk about players they have seen play. Michael's legacy as far as GOAT talk is concerned will be directly tied to his brand and how long his name stays relevant.
Names like Bill Russel, Oscar Robertson, etc are so easily dismissed because a majority of people can't comment on them because they never watched them play. I just don't see how someone arguing the concept of consecutive rings as an argument for GOAT stature can dismiss a guy who won 8 consecutive championships.
Actually he didn't originally dismiss Bill Russel. Reread Birdys post. He completely ignored Bill Russel as if he didnt exist. Thats embarrassing.
And my point still stands. If you can't compare Russel's 8 consecutive rings to LeBrons potential of 4 consecutive than you can't compare Jordan's lack of 4 straight with LeBron. Jordan, LeBron and Russel played in three distinctly different eras of basketball. That isnt an opinion. It's a fact.$50 RCF bet against cmstophe and jigo_oi that the Browns will make the playoffs in 2013.

Jordan is the Goat Lebron is chasing, not Russell.Actually he didn't originally dismiss Bill Russel. Reread Birdys post. He completely ignored Bill Russel as if he didnt exist. Thats embarrassing.
That is why I ignored him.
It is the same reason that people don't even bother including Wilt in statistical conversations when looking at the modern era because the game has changed so much.
