Re: Truth And Rumors (trade deadline talk)
I said that a bit ago too. This is what I read in some article (recalling the new CBA):
Smith will be a free agent on July 1. He has said he's looking for a max deal. Given his time of service, Smith will be eligible for an estimated five-year, $97.5 million deal by the team that trades for him, assuming the league's salary cap rises as expected. (That team, however, would have some pretty amazing leverage thanks to the new collective bargaining agreement: Smith would only be eligible for an estimated four-year, $73 million contract from another team. So in theory, the team that trades for him and his Bird rights could hardball him into an $85-90 million deal over five years.)

Re: Truth And Rumors (trade deadline talk)
We can keep stockpiling all these picks we want, but eventually, and sooner rather than later, they will need to be moved for some serious talent. We cannot go into these next few drafts, and use 3-4 picks. We simply do not have the roster space for that.
Hopefully, either this offseason or next season, we are able to make a move where we can get serious players in trades with these picks.

Re: Truth And Rumors (trade deadline talk)
Sorry, but, some picks are worthless. You must also factor in that you have to receive a player back, and that Boobie is an expiring. You could end up with a net negative value by trading for that pick which is presently the last pick in the round. Not enough for me to consider doing it. Would much rather dangle him to LA, if the only thing of value is that 2nd, and hope he helps them make the playoffs so we can do the pick swap.

Re: Truth And Rumors (trade deadline talk)
Does everyone always literally wait until the last minute? I'd figure there would be more trades by now.

Perhaps we could get Dujuan Blair involved?

Odd. Saw a basketball team playing like it cared, and winning, in front of fans who don't need fan lessons. In Cleveland, the anti-MIA.

Who do the Bulls think they are thinking that someone is just going to pluck Richard Hamilton off their hands for free? Lol.

Re: Truth And Rumors (trade deadline talk)
I think teams may be waiting on Smith to go. Then hopefully there's a mad scramble for the next PF on the market driving up Speights price.
