I heard november too, just before the new COD likely, but I read somewhere it'd be closer to $800, which I am perfectly fine paying. $500 would be amazing.

A new rumor suggests that PlayStation 4 is due this November and will be available at two price points. According to Kotaku, anonymous sources say the PlayStation 4 is currently planned for two SKUs at $429 and $529 respectively, though “that could change.”

it wont let you play any games from the past... what they are planning on doing is creating a way you can download your past games and take them where ever you want on any device and play them. so you can play like PS1, PS2 and possibly PS3 on PSVita ... but yes its not backwards compatible and until they release this server that has every game ... you are stuck

But I a guessing you would have to buy those games again, rather than having you register your old games with Sony so they can let you download those games for free.
