Re: Lucy: "I don't want to go to Disney World anymore"
I don't know why, but my skin crawls a little bit that I'm agreeing with Jack so much on this topic

This has nothing to do with Constitutional rights. We do not need the Wild Wild West happening at 20000 feet. And don't give me this crap that the TSA is a govt entity, but planes are private. Bullshit. Flying is and has always been highly regulated by the FAA, which is a branch of the US DOT. It is federally funded and in charge of things like making sure pilots are worthy to take your life in their hands, making sure the massive metal birds that fly in the air are safe to do just that, and yes, regulating civil aviation to promote safety. Would some of you actually feel safer without TSA searches and metal detectors and X-Ray machines, so we can rely on who has the bigger gun on board? Are you fucking serious? Who the fuck would even bother flying?
The TSA is not a rung in the ladder for the govt to climb up and drop its proverbial hammer down upon us. Fuck me. I'm highly pessimistic about this govt and its intentions, I think the Tea Party will gain major ground once people realize how fucked up both our major parties are, and I never turn a blind eye on any conspiracy theory that is well thought out. But this TSA thing being grouped with other Marxist/Socialist ideas we've seen lately in this country is fucking irrational, and frankly casts a shadow of illegitimacy on other much more well founded questions about this govt's deviance.

Re: Lucy: "I don't want to go to Disney World anymore"
I wouldn't say the lady planned to do this. I think she just got a little emotional and protective of her child. So be it. Was it determined that it was illegal for her to tape the search? I know the TSA employee said so but she could have just made that up.

I don't get the problem the Mom has... I'm pretty sure anyone is patted down in a wheelchair (scanner goes off in the chair, doesn't tell if there's something on the person or not). If the girl had a broken hand, protocol is to x-ray the cast (I've had it done numerous times, always in less than five minutes), test it for explosive residue (I don't know how it works, but it's pretty cool), and send you on your merry way. The point is... It's not just your precious little girl. They aren't targeting you, they aren't making a mockery of you. Calm the fuck down, America.

Re: Lucy: "I don't want to go to Disney World anymore"
That's a very general, broad view, but yes, it is "basically", as you said, accurate. It's similar to saying that a bunch of Catholics started Lutheranism. It's much more complex than that, but a lot of the core premise is there. In the end, these Republicans(Catholics) began distancing themselves from the rest of the group's ideals, and began ways to branch off into a group(Lutherans) that is closer to their own ideoligies. The two groups(Repubs and Tea Party) have similar ideals, but the Tea party is tired of the govt in generals ridiculous spending. It's tired of the US operating in a deficit and increasing reliance on foreign help(financially). It's ideoligies sweep through both party lines on numerous levels. They, in effect, attempt to cut through all of the political bullshit(special interests in particular) to get to the roots of these problems(spending, cutting deficit, energy reliance, unjust taxification, etc)
I really hope they can somehow find a way to form an actual 3rd political party. Yes, you are right, in that there is not one democrat who backed their ideals, but they also met with resistance from numerous Republicans, as well. But, in the end, they are people who want shit done without regard to the present party structure. That's at least half the problem with this fucking country right now. You've got idiots on one side battling issues just because they are supported by idiots on the other side. Cut through all the bullshit and come together to solve problems. It's hard to fix something when you can't even work together on a common goal.

Re: Lucy: "I don't want to go to Disney World anymore"
My point was more that the Tea Party is a sham of a movement. The people who run it (in particular to Koch brothers) have a very clear agenda and most of the people who are actually a part of the movement have no idea they're being played. They thing they're a part of a grass roots movement in favor of government change but in reality they're just being played by big business in an effort to get votes for the candidates the people funding the Tea Party prefer.
Regardless of the intent of the people within the movement, the movement itself all a big charade.

Re: Lucy: "I don't want to go to Disney World anymore"
Very true, but that's not exactly a secret.
The Tea Party, on the other hand, plays itself off like a grass roots movement when in fact it's really just a branch of right wing conservatives being used by a couple of rich Republicans to garner votes for Republican candidates from stupid anti-government people. And I don't mean that in the sense that all anti-government people are stupid. Just the ones who are a part of the Tea Party because all the evidence that they're being used is out there. They're just either too dumb to realize it or look it up.

Re: Lucy: "I don't want to go to Disney World anymore"
This country is full of pussies. Man, you talk to people who are in Israel about the amount of security they go through to walk into a building or talk to almost any other country about what they pay for gas...
You'd realize we're lucky as fuck to have security AVAILABLE to us at all. You'd realize we're lucky to pay less than $10/gal or that we have our own oil supply at all.
It just astounds me the level of whiny, spoiled pussies I'm surrounded by. It's to the level where people who take pride in NOT being whiny are actually whiny too.
I'd guarantee that if people lives in impoverished countries or countries with a large terrorist presence, this kind of videotaping and whining about "rights" would go away in this country.
Bunch of fucking pussies. So you guys that are lucky enough to have the opportunity to fly ANYWHERE... Walk into that line, shut the fuck up, let someone wave a wand over you and your whiny brat and tell your kid exactly this:
"The world is full of sadness, you shitty little fuck. Remember when daddy said there were people starving in Africa? Well, we're going to visit them today and I'm gonna show you why you'll eat when I tell you to, you'll pick up the dog's shit when I tell you to, and you'll give up that FUCKING stuffed animal that I (not you) own and you'll get it back when these people who are here to protect you tell you we can have it back. Until then, realize how lucky you are that mommy and daddy live in a country where everything you see around you is available for you. Ok, now that we've had that discussion it looks like your stupid stuffed animal is ready for you. Head through this 6 foot line and I'll see you on the other side."
What a bunch of spoiled, entitled little shits we are in a country where we have it so fucking good.Last edited by JiggleIt; 02-23-2013 at 05:33 PM.
How about a quick simile: Watching the Browns from '99-'12 is like waiting for someone to finish shitting when you've gotta go piss real bad. Now imagine waiting on a 12 year shit...

Re: Lucy: "I don't want to go to Disney World anymore"
What is this 2012? The Ron Paul grass roots movement is over and it's time to put on your big boy pants. Nobody likes to go through airport security but you do it for your safety and the safety of others. If you don't like authority/security in society, move to an island and live on drifting coconuts.

Re: Lucy: "I don't want to go to Disney World anymore"
The mom wanted to record it because she went into the situation feeling entitled to her daughter not being searched because she's young and wheel-chair bound. That's what that was all about.
