OK, a huge stretch with this question. I know Chris Paul and LeBron are buddies (heck, Paul even said that they are like brothers), so is there any chance that when Paul's contract is up, there is a scenario that will bring him to Cleveland? It seems that what James really wants on this team is a superstar point guard (see Jason Kidd scenario), and just imagine how happy he would be if he gets his good friend Chris Paul.
Oh, and even though it would be succinct, and probably accurate, if/when you answer "no," try to explain why you think so. It makes for more interesting reading. |

well when does Paul's contract end? If it's 2010, yes, it's possible. unlikely, but very possible. NO will do anything and everything to keep him there. IMO, he is the MVP. He has been absolutely unbelievable. Bron won't get it because the Cavs won't come close to 50 wins. Now I think that criteria is bullshit, but most voters don't.

He is a restricted FA after next season. The thing that intrigues me about this particular scenario is that N.O. franchise is in limbo right now. Their attendance is near the lowest in the league and with Seattle moving to OK City, N.O. may not be able to afford him. Now with that being said It would be stupid on the Cavs part not to try and get him when he does hit restricted free agency. Who knows what is going to happen but it looks likely he will surely be gone due to the franchises current woes.

NO, i dont want Chris Paul to the Cavs.
It's about building around LeBRon, not about finding other superstars. David West would be a great player for the Cavs IMO |

seriously? Is there anyway to give someone a negative rep point? Chris Paul next to Lebron would be incredible. That would give us 2 of the top 5 players in the league. I do not ever see it happening though.

So wait, some of you get upset about Jay-Z being buddies with LeBron, but that doesnt mean LeBron will go to the Nets, at least in the words to some, yet LeBron being friends with Paul is enough to warrant a thought of Paul coming to Cleveland? You guys are great.
Why would Paul, who is becoming one of the better players in the NBA, is the face of his city, on a team that is conteding in the best Conference with a solid team, going to leave to play second fiddle to LeBron? Breaking news: LeBron is friends with most everyone in the NBA...so all of a sudden the stars are going to align and everyone is going to bolt from there current teams to go to Cleveland and play for the Cavs?? Right.

Paul will be eligible to sign a 5 year extension for max money following this season. He will at least sign for 3 years. The earliest he will be a free agent will likely be the summer of 2012.

even though it will probably never happen, it would be nice to get bron a legitimate pg. then we could really see how he plays off the ball, like the old dru joyce days.
i dont understand anyone who doesnt want paul. he wouldnt disrupt bron at all because he passes before he shoots, but could still give you 15-20 points a night |

No way I want Chris Paul, he's just the best PG in the league..
![]() Although, I do wish we could find a player like West that continues to get better every year... We don't seem to obtain those players... And nobody develops under this pathetic staff...

I mentioned my recap today that I'd love to see James on a team with either Dwight Howard or Chris Paul. Either combo would be amazing.
Of course, Paul can sign a max extension with New Orleans and he probably will. However, if there's one all-star out there that could use a bigger market (or stage) it's Chris Paul. The Hornets are one of the best teams in basketball and they don't come close to selling out their home games. Paul is an absolute monster but he's not nearly as well known as he should be. Not saying that Cleveland is that big market he needs... but if he paired with James, there's no doubt in my mind that they'd win championships. |

Oh yea, the bigger market that is....Cleveland.
Maybe in NBA Live this will work, but you really think he is going to opt out? The Hornets have one of the better records in the West.

I'm pretty certain barring a miracle, the only way we'll get a legit PG is via the Draft or finding a diamond in the rough via a trade. No team is gonna trade an established PG to the Cavs, or let one come to us via restricted FA.

Yet, NO is on the verge of losing the team because they can't even fill half the arena.
