LMAO at bucks fans preaching about good character guys.... I'm so glad we don't have to deal with this loser.... ![]() __________________________________________________ ___________ Woman alleges Bucks player fondled, punched her Milwaukee police seeking to arrest Bobby Simmons, acquired in the off-season By JOHN DIEDRICH and BOB PURVIS jdiedrich@journalsentinel.com Posted: Oct. 3, 2005 Police are seeking to arrest recently acquired Milwaukee Bucks player Bobby Simmons following an early morning incident Saturday in which a woman said he fondled and punched her, a Milwaukee police official said this morning. Simmons is accused of fondling a 25-year-old woman around 2 a.m. Saturday morning in a car after leaving a downtown bar, said Lt. Mark Ciske, of the department's Sensitive Crimes Unit. After leaving The Jungle, 618 N. Broadway St., the woman asked for a ride and got into Simmons' car, Ciske said. Another person also was in the car, he said. The woman told police Simmons fondled her and then punched her in the face, Ciske said. The woman then got out of the car, which was not moving, he said. She reported the incident a short time later, he said. Officers were looking for Simmons to arrest him on suspicion of misdemeanor fourth-degree sexual assault and misdemeanor battery, Ciske said. Simmons, 25, was one of the most sought-after free agents on the NBA market this summer. He was named the league's most improved player after averaging 16.4 points and 5.9 rebounds in 37.3 minutes per game with the Los Angeles Clippers last season. He was scheduled to attend the Bucks media day today at the Cousins Center, the team's practice facility in St. Francis. Team workouts across the league start Tuesday. Bucks general manager Larry Harris targeted Simmons early in the free-agent negotiating period and reached a verbal agreement with him on July 8. He signed a five-year, $47 million free-agent contract in August and is expected to play a major role in helping the Bucks bounce back from a 30-52 record to make the playoffs this season. Simmons was introduced as a Buck at a news conference Aug. 8 at the Cousins Center. At the news conference were Simmons' fiancée and 5-year-old son. Simmons was a high school and college standout in Chicago where he attended Simeon High School and spent three seasons at DePaul University before entering the NBA draft as an early entry candidate in 2001. Last year was a breakout season for Simmons, who finally landed a starting spot after being taken by Seattle in the second round of the 2001 NBA draft, and being dealt to Washington the same night. He played in only 66 games during his first two seasons with the Wizards and started just five. But he played in 131 games during the last two seasons with the Clippers. He shot 43.5% from three-point range last season and 84.6% at the foul line, and he had a career-best 106 steals.

Innocent until proven guilty guys. No need to deface a guy unless you know the accusations are true. A women said he did it but that doesn't make it true.
Well, anyway...if it is true, this is why it much more important to find guys with character and talent than just all talent. This is why I am so happy that Gilbert, Ferry and Brown always want to find quality character guys, because this sort of thing can ruin a season. I hope it is not true however. |

Good point Rimage. But because a court declares a rich celebrity innocent doesnt mean its true either. It will be interesting to see how this case pans out.
Yes the value of character guys cannot be underestimated. |

The story does sound fishy....I would bet Simmons was at the club, and that is about all. Maybe someone he associated with or something. I guess I'm giving him the benefit of the doubt. We'll just have to see....

this does sound kind of bogus.
Woman:Hey, can you give me a ride? Bob:Sure, get in. >opens, closes door< Bob: Hey babe, your hott. >touch, touch< Woman: Don't touch me like that! Bob: Do you know who I am? I'm Bobby simmons! I play for the bucks! I'll do whatever the fuck i want! >punch< Woman: >Gets out of the car< Sure sounds plausable. What an ass hole that bobby simmons is!

Milwaukee has a history of gold diggers looking for a buck. I used to own a popular night club back in 99-00. I've had Tractor, Rafer Alston, Glenn Robinson, Sam Cassell, and others come through. Chicks here pray on guys like this. Tractor must have thought he was the sexiest man alive with the way women would come at him.
In Bobby's case, this'll be a lesson learned for him. Man's greatest needs...food, water, and luvin' (authorized or not). I'm sure the woman hit on him all night and jumped in his car as a last resort. He probably did palm him some but then turning around and punching her in the face doesn't pass the test of logic. Unless of course it was a Rupaul type. Shame on him for putting himself in this situation. He'll get schooled and reeled in by our Reggie White type religious members of the team (Redd, Ervin Johnson, Mason, ect.). More reason now for him to get on the court and prove himself. If he did punch a woman in the face, then he should be locked up. Not even Sean Kemp is that stupid though.

I wouldnt learn from it..
Id be there the next day scoping out the prospects, just like i am every thursday night in the AK Rowdy posing as an All American River Hockey player (the sad part, it actually works) But just as they want the money, a big reason to play pro ball for every NBA player is to get ladies as well. |

Spoken like a lonely single guy Mac.
Personally sick of these stories. I dont understand how these guys continually mess up. They are grown adults, but seem unable to hold down a relationships. Plenty of other careers include regular travel. Gotta love the immaturity on this board as well as in the NBA. |

He is probably hiding out somewhere telling his agent to schedule a visit at the Ronald McDonald house to soften the blow.
good character lol you sure he joined the Bucks? sounds like he joined the slapahoe tribe to me.
