From what I just gathered from a phone call I just had with a person who should be pretty up to date on where things stand right now ....it looks like all system's are pretty much go for Joe Smith to be ready to join the Cavs around Wednesday of this coming week.

Pretty much all hurdles have been crossed and financial aspacts agreed upon. Not sure when the announcement should be coming down the chute, but, what I was told is that it looked like all the figures jived, and we're set to acquire Joe Smith.

I asked if any other news besides that could be forthcoming, hinting about any other players, and he didn't have anything to add to just Joe Smith. I guess we have had other coversations going on, but, as of 15 minutes ago, everything was centered on Joe Smith being the guy that joins the Cavs..

So, that's what I've got ...nothing on Rasheed mentioned, but, I didn't even bring up his name, left that for him to offer, and he did not offer anything but the name Joe Smith, and it looks great ...all system's go for him to join us.

Oh WAIT, he did offer up that Fegan and Ferry's relationship is 200% better than it was last year at this time ...good news for people that want to see AV remain a Cav ...

THAT WHAT I GOT ... Looks like Joe's our guy, folks.

well which way do we go from here?

we've got 3 back-ups and 1 starter vying for 2 starter and 2 back-up spots.

That's awesome!! Do you guys think that we would have him start over AV when until Ben comes back? Joe is a great addition to this team

I'd go ballsy and start Hickson at the 4...

Varejao kind of has the size to play as a center, so let him back up Z. pairing andy and Joe allows us to have atleast 1 big who can put the ball in the hoop.

Wow. I don't think there could be any better news.

I'm not sure what I'm happier about, getting Joe Smith or the relationship between Ferry and Fegan being 200% better than this time last year.

That is just good news all around.

Dude thats fantastic. And now we traded Damon Jones for Mo Williams. Good times to be a Cavs fan.

One question though. Who starts? Since Ben looks pretty much done for the season, we're looking at Andy or Joe. And I just dont like what Ive seen from Varejao starting.

That's Mike's call ...I would think we'd have AV starting from here on out, but his minutes may ultimately stay in the 30 range because that's where he's most comfortable and has the greatest impact.

I first read the post that said to start Hickson and laughed. Then I thought about it for a couple of seconds, and I kind of think that is a better idea than starting AV. AV is our ONLY backup C and can't play backup C/starting PF at the same time. He would have to play way more miutes then he is used to. I think that I would start Joe, but that most likely won't happen.
