I think we need to make sure we keep our international scouts since they have done an extremely good job of getting players especially since most of the guys we got weren't high ranked players.

Tomlin, Perez and Cody Allen were all draft steals!!!!!! Gomes, Clev were steals as well when it comes to trades. Some people say Santana was as well, but Blake actually played well for the Dodgers til his age caught up with him.

2018 Arbitration Estimates (Service Time)
Lonnie Chisenhall (5.158) – $5.8M
Zach McAllister (5.077) – $2.4M
Cody Allen (5.076) – $10.8M
Dan Otero (4.124) – $1.4M
Danny Salazar (3.162) – $5.2M
Trevor Bauer (3.158) – $7.7M
Abraham Almonte (3.052) – $1.1M

Would be about a $12.4M increase in salaries from '17 to '18....

Santana is 12 mil, Shaw is 4.6, Bruce is 3.7, Logan is 5.5, Crisp/Johnson is 9.75 mil off the books, so it essentially covers any of the increases to players salaries. You have smaller salaries in Smith and Jackson coming off the books as well.

Almonte, Urshela and Gonzalez are all out of options next season. I actually believe the Kipnis to the OF experiment will carry over to next season, so I think Almonte will end up cut this offseason before he gets paid since if I am correct he will be non-tendered, but the rest of the crew we will likely be keeping.

With the way the FO has been working lately, Bauer will likely get an extension next offseason so I am not sure what it will be but something similar to what Carrasco and Kluber has signed will be likely. Salazar was another guy who could have gotten an extension, but it is unlikely cause of his injuries.

Likely gone this offseason: Bruce, Logan, Breslow

Low chance of returning for next season: Shaw, Santana, Smith, Jackson, Almonte, Crockett, Baker (will be outrighted)

Out of options: Urshela, Crockett, Merritt, Gonzalez, Almonte,

Long term extension candidates: Bauer, Salazar,

An additional year candidate: Chisenhall, Allen, Otero, McAllister,

Essentially depending how this night goes with game 5 in the playoffs, I am looking at we will have about 15 mil to spend next offseason in free agency. So likely a bigger name then a bunch of minor league invites with incentives. It is quite possible Kipnis ends up being switched to the OF, while Chisenhall or Brantley gets moved to first base (Derek thinks Brantley will, while I feel Chisenhall will).

Minor leaguers of note for next season: SP Merryweather, Kaminsky, RP Martin, Johnson, INF Ronny Rodriguez, Stamets, OF Papi, C Haase
