2017 Draft Prospects Thread

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
So, the Combine and most Pro Days have happened. I am going to bring back my poll just to see how everyone is viewing the Browns QB situation for 2017.

Realistically speaking, what is your ideal outcome, including draft, for the QB position?

1. Starter
2. Back-up
3. 3rd string and/or practice sqaud

GO!!!

I'm gonna mix realism with my idealistic view and say:

1) Jimmy G
2) Kessler
3) Hogan

Trubisky's answer to the "why couldn't you beat out Williams" question is should simply be that Williams was a senior QB who lead the team to a 11-3 record while being responsible for 37 touchdowns passing/receiving, passing for 3,000 and running for another 1,000.

The real answer to the underlying question of how he accounts for his relative lack of starting game experience is simply that he forfeited the opportunity to gain the experience he lacks by exercising his right to forego his senior year of eligibility and declare for the NFL draft IN ORDER TO GET THAT MONEY.

Minimizing Williams' contribution to a winning UNC football program is unnecessary and really has nothing to due with Trubisky's lack of experience; its his own decision to pursue the dollar that is responsible. And that's ok in capitalist America!
Right....its not like Williams was some scrub, even though his game didn't translate to the NFL. He was a hell of a college QB. 11 wins is pretty fucking good. Something Jared Goff never came to close to achieving :chuckle:

I'd also argue that experience with a professional coaching staff in a pro system is much more valuable than another year at NC. Hard to argue it wasn't a win/win for him IMO.

What I think?

1. Kessler
2. Mahomes (or if Trubisky falls to 12)
3. Hogan/Crow

What I wish would happen?

1. Kessler
2. Dobbs (later round) (brilliant guy, has height, quick release, can throw deep ball, but of course, needs developed - but who better than Hue?)
3. Hogan

What I really wish would happen if we don't have to give up 12th?

1. Jimmy G
2. Kessler
3. Who cares, throw in sportscoach.

Patriots don't own a 1st or even a 2nd rounder this year. Maybe we will try and use that to our advantage and throw a decent, not overly-priced offer.

Guys we are 1 month and 5 days from the biggest draft in Browns history until the next time we have 2 first rounders and there hasn't been a quality post about what poster should be 3rd string QB in 6 hours?

I expect more frequent (but not necessarily better) analysis

I can't believe we have to do this for another month.

I'm so down on Trubisky I'd be really disappointed if they spent a first rounder on him. Even before the terrible Stanford Bowl game I just disliked a lot of what I saw. I personally hate his throwing motion (it looks unnatural to me), and I've never been that impressed with his pocket awareness. Keep in mind, he had some great offensive talent around him too.....

There's honestly 5 or 6 QB's I'd rather take, including Nate Peterman from Pitt who could be had as a value pick much later. Anyways, I'll be more than content with rolling out with Kessler next year as a "make or break" year and then addressing QB long-term in 2018.

Truthfully, I'm kinda hopeful we just bypass this QB draft class and focus on getting our guy in 2018. Fill out current positional needs this year and then address QB later....

How far do you guys think Waston falls because of the velocity test?

Damn just reading and watching some film this morning.. we are in position to get a legit STAR at pick 12

Will still hear the usual suspects of Cleveland media say the Browns aren't doing their due diligence because they skipped Mitchell's Pro Day.

#FakeNews

Sad.

I get so sick of guys like Fedor Grossi and Hammer. Fedor's like "why go to a top Qb's workout when you you host a backup TE." I'd tell you why asshat but you wouldn't understad. Don't they realize a personal workout is 20 times more effective?
