2017 Trade Deadline

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Dodgers are 29-4 during a stretch in June and July?

Fuck it, cancel October.
Did I miss something?

Why are all your post lately like this?

Just offer nothing. Usually it isn't like that. Unless I missed something on this side of town(board) while enjoying the Cavs' epic summer.

Simple case of running out of tampons. Sportscoach had him bleeding.

I'll provide substance when substance is called for.

Don't think I've ever not made fun of awful takes on here, and since that's mostly what we're stuck with at this point, I don't have much inclination to take things seriously.

Just a case of a team that should be Top 5 in baseball playing in the 8-10th best team range. New Indians fans are acting accordingly.

I haven't been following too much in terms of rumors and such for the team. They definitely aren't playing up to the potential that they are capable of playing at, but the negative outlook around here doesn't add up.

I hope they go all in and make whatever addition they feel they can make to get them over the hump. Sonny Gray looks like a solid move, getting a legit 3rd pitcher behind Kluber and Cookie should be the main focus by the deadline, I believe anyway.

I'm ready and willing to hear what everyone else believes they should do.

AZ_ actually called my take about Sonny Gray bad and a few hours later Olney said the Indians were in on the Gray sweepstakes and Gray is one of the most likely to be traded at the deadline.

Sincerely looking at things, more than likely we will make a move for a starting pitcher. Most of though agree trading Mejia, McKenzie, and some other guys isn't what we want to do, but was the package that was used to get Quintana. It will be hard to say which way to go in a deal.

Part of me wants to get an RBI machine type of bat to put in the lineup, but sincerely we do not have a spot for another bat if everyone gets healthy. I mean we could always send Zimmer down so it would have to be a CF, but at the same time, Zimmer has exceeded my expectations and I think needs to stay up now. Only one deal likely with another Starter just to make sure we have enough starting pitching for the playoffs. Otherwise the roster really isn't going to be changing any outside of the 1 or 2 guys that end up being moved from our 40 man (aka I feel a guy like Morimando would be moved in a deal for a starting pitcher)

That means in September we will likely add one or two guys to our 40 man roster and call them up. Not sure who, but it's likely to happen especially since Colon is suspended for a full season and likely not pitching for the Indians again.

Can never have to much good starting pitching and of the Indians get a Gray typer it is a move well made. I really do not trust our starting pitching as much as I thought I would. A bat won't happen because like you said they just need to step it up and Lindor is doing. However leaving 15 stranded is not a lack of talent but focus and even though they won tonight it is a bad stat that needs to be fixed. If we add a top three pitcher to the rotation and our bats get going again this will be a very feared team. However Bauer and Salazar are huge question marks right now so a SP might be a need at this point.

I give Bimbo and his praise of Blackmon credit when he is really the bat I would love the Indians to get. Zimmer is kinda of there but has a few more years before he is Blackmon good. So yeah adding a bat Is not a need and I needed to this first off.

However a quality starting pitcher is a need and who or what they might do or get. I really have no idea. Gray is okay and I feel might add some glue but won't fix the woes of our problems with the young guys. He would welcome but I would not give up much for him, who ever else is out there is worth a look but to bank the farm on anyone it would have to a Miller type pitcher and Quntana is not even that and he got a haul. I think the Indians stand pat unless a team lowers asking costs.

I wanted to make a move for Blackmon before the season started since he wasn't a bad CF and even away from Coors Field, had a decent average. Not sure what it would have really cost in honestly, but it would have been a good idea on paper.

Gray to me is a likely candidate since they like to get guys with years of control. I could see a rental for one season as well at the right price, but I really doubt we are going to go forward without making some type of trade as long as it makes sense for this season and long term.

The RISP numbers for this team is what irks me. They are in the top ten in baseball in almost every statistical category, yet their win-loss record doesn't support it well. They are getting almost 10+ opportunities a night with runners in scoring position and not following through with the hits. Something has got to change with them otherwise they will never win the series.

I mean, we have the 9th best record in baseball, so doesn't out W/L record support those stats?

Last year, the Cubs ranked 21st last year in Avg, but ranked 2 in AB and 3 in Runs scored (with RISP). Indians this year rank 25th in Avg, 3rd in AB, and 11th in Runs scored. Those numbers are discouraging in the fact that the team is obviously coming up well short in scoring opportunities, but encouraging that we are generating ample opportunities.

Correa out for 6-8 weeks, sucks for he and Houston as he was having an MVP caliber year.

JD Martinez to D-Backs

Yonder Alonso out tonight, imagine Yankees snag him soon

The prices of players are being set right now for the most part. The rumor mill says the Tigers will get three prospects, but not sure of who yet. They are not done trading either so we will see them make some more moves.
