2019 Potential Free Agency Targets

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Browns have never been in cap hell under Haslam. Stop acting like Paul Krueger and Desmond Harrison were breaking the bank and grow up m8

I fully expect us to spend big this offseason, but there was really no reason to do so in previous years, especially the last two when we were clearly rebuilding. I think the team has managed their finances pretty well under Haslam. He's been willing to spend when necessary (like absorbing Osweiler's deal for a pick), but there wasn't a ton of reason to spend big in recent seasons.

Now we got our QB, so you go all-in and spend some of that massive stockpile of cap space we've built up to fill out the team.

I agree with you, but I also don't want those alternative facts that we were somehow ever in cap hell with Haslam to be left unchallenged. It's not true and Takes like 48 seconds to look up that the Browns since 2013 haven't even been within 22 million dollars of reaching the cap.

List of free agents really isn't that impressive.

Wondering if the Browns will go the same route they did last year, by making trades to help acquire the talent needed. Getting Landry and Randall were definitely the two best moves we've made in awhile. Dorsey really won those two trades, then sprinkled in free agent signings along the way. If we can have a repeat summer like that, along with winning the draft like last year.. Team should be poised for a breakout season.

As far as dream target, it's gotta be Clowny.. But we can all agree that won't happen.

I'd love to see Haslam finally spend some money instead of constantly being in the top 3 in available cap space. However, if Haslam is actually willing to spend, I hope Dorsey doesn't go blowing it on more guys like TJ Carrie and Chris Hubbard. We can't afford misses like that.

Those guys can be cut next year. Misses happen in FA.

Would love Clowney, but don't see it happening.

Would honestly shell out serious money for a kicker that isn't horse testicles, another WR, another LB, and go from there. We'll still have the draft to build from as well.

Browns could be a playoff contender next year if they play their cards right.

Yeah, that’s the biggest problem facing Cleveland’s inability to draw free agents...

I don't really think he's a #1 WR, but he's very good and I'd love to have him here.

I agree w/you that he may not be a true #1 WR, but do we really need him to be? Do we really need a Julio/Green/Adams/Brown etc. type of WR? That would be fantastic if somehow we get OBJ and w/o selling the farm, but we just need a bigger, reliable WR to pair w/Jarvis, Callaway, our other WR's, Njoku + Duke/Chubb. That is some serious damn talent.

OBJ would be great.

Funchess will only help. As long as he's not requesting stupid money, we do it all day.

Agreed on all accounts. I've been a fan of his since he was at Michigan.

Any left tackles out there? I know Robinson is looking good, but bringing in competition is not a bad thing

This is the list of the best pending free agents. I get the feeling that at least Matthews & Lewan will remain with their current teams. #s 4 & 5 are RTs.

1. Taylor Lewan, Tennessee Titans
2. Jake Matthews, Atlanta Falcons
3. Duane Brown, Seattle Seahawks
4. Daryl Williams, Carolina Panthers
5. Rob Havenstein, Los Angeles Rams

I believe Lewan signed a large extension in July.

I still think Funchess has number one receiver talent. He just doesn't get the volume because Carolina doesn't air it out much. They pass a lot to their RB and TE, but receiver volume is pretty inconsistent week to week. It's just hard for most guys to produce when they're getting 3-5 targets most weeks. I think he'd also be a better fit with Baker because Baker loves to air it out downfield.

So a number one receiver in the mold of Pierre Garcon?
