All Star 2017

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Man, so I'm wondering you can kinda draw some conclusions from the players here. Do they a bias against rookies? Or, the inverse, do they have a bias in favor of older vets? Because I can't make a case, at all, for Carmelo over Embiid (or Love, but Embiid finished even further behind him).

Or did the players just not care?

And if the players did care, how much of the voting was personal? Were they more apt to vote for themselves, their friends, or their teammates?

Also, the most laughable thing is how on Earth the players had CJ McCollum ranked ahead of Chris Paul. Again, do we have something more than on-court play at work here. Like, does Chris Paul's dirty reputation carry some weight around the league, and thus hurt him in voting with the players?

It appeared to hurt Draymond in the voting, so I wouldn't be surprised if it hurt Paul.

So uhhh... LeBron is starting at center?? Or I guess "that position where you stand closest to the rim"?

Congrats to Ky on his first start and of course James is James. The Cavs better have 3 guys there, Love HAS to be chosen for the bench, right?

It’s not his first start. He was a starter in 2014...same year he won ASG MVP.

Wait how the hell is Westbrook not starting over Curry?

He was first in media votes first in player votes and 3rd in fan votes, so if its split 25%/25%/50% why isn't he starting?

What a snub, dude is averaging 30-10-10 and yet that bitch Curry gets in over him

So because fan votes count for twice as much as media and player votes, his “weighted score” is 2.0... which is the exactly the same weighted score as Curry and Harden. But according to NBA’s “rules”, the fan vote breaks tiebreakers...so Curry and Harden are starters and Westbrook is not.

Look at Kevin, Blake, and Steph though.. Lol! :chuckle:

Every "sophisticated" media guy, or "analytics" guy have been taking turns on the radio and podcasts yelling about all kinds of things so that they can guarantee you that Lowry/Wall/Isiah/Derozan are all clearly better than Kyrie.

I think it says a LOT that Kyrie's peers in the NBA decided "that is one bad motherfucker" and voted him #1. Numbers are important, but sometimes, there's something that goes a little bit beyond the numbers and I think Kyrie is one of those examples.

Agreed...

The guys that play against him night in and night out said "this guy is the best."

If you ask me, he's better than all of those guys; but those guys are having great (some better) regular seasons.

I think the players don't really care about the seasonal stats; and instead are saying "who is the best player."

And while not having the best season (see Lowry), Irving is the best player out of that list.. Without a fucking doubt.
