Has anyone seen the stats this year of the impact of Cavs passing on their shooting %? There was a stat, can't remember if it was in 2015 or 2016, that the Cavs shot around 25% from 3 with no passes in a possession, and this escalated up to around 50% from 3 if there were 4 passes or more in a possession.

Felt the defense was much sharper today. Rotations were better. They were more active on the glass. Should have been an easy win but the offense went up in flames. Still, the effort on defense was much improved

In listening to LeBron's presser, he mentioned CJ Miles being a guy that killed them in the regular season. So out of curiosity, I looked up his numbers for the series:

2.8-6 FG, 1.3-4 THREE POINTER

So he shot 46% from the floor, but just 31% from three. CJ made 5 threes in 4 games. I'd say the Cavs did their job on him.

MEANWHILE as bad as PG was killing them for 2.5 games, the change in strategy clearly ended up working (although maybe he wore himself down as well). George was 15-49 from the floor in games 3 and 4, and just 8-24 from three. He ended up shooting just 38.6% from the floor for the series.

Teague was the killer this time around. The Cavs were content to let him get his shots off, and after going 43%/28% two years ago and 34%/27% last year, that strategy had a lot of evidence to suggest it was a solid one. This year, he shot 49%/53% well above his season averages, and his percentages the last couple of times he faced the Cavs. I'd have to rewatch, but it seemed they let Teague get more open looks than the last couple of years, in part because they were so focused on Miles and George.

Teague got too many open looks like some of the shooters ..when their D tightened up on him he wasn't effective..just like some of the others expect George.
Stevenson got open looks yesterday and he knocked down a few..but in the end..buh bye...

They are doing the trophy again this year

I really appreciate that they let the new guys place the pieces in there. The leadership that LeBron possesses is just insane. You would never see Jordan do shit like that. Even though he has a history of yelling at his players and all that, off the court, I don't think there's another player in the league that you would want as your leader (outside of personal issues with him and his success). I honestly hope Giannis can be him in the future. I guess he will be Greece focused. But Nick Wright had a great story about him. Giannis as a rookie, with his first paycheque went to Western Union and cashed his entire cheque, then sent it over to his family in Greece. He had to get to a game, but then realized that he didn't have any money on him and couldn't pay for a cab, so he just started running to the arena. On the way there, a few fans pulled up by him and said "are you Giannis?" He responded "yes, I have to get to work." They offered him a ride to the stadium, which he accepted. This dude is a once in a lifetime league player. Much like LeBron was, and I think he's the closest thing to him on and off the court.

With nearly everyone in the Media basically trashing us because "Most competitive sweep evaaaaar" .. i cant help but think "you all mad bros?" .. you can slice it anyway you want but the Cavs are the first Team to have won the First Round and thus will get the most Rest.

Also nobody was giving Indiana the props they deserve.. especially with Paul George playing like T-Mac and Lance playing like its 2012 or 2013 i think just for the moment they where much better than your typical 8 Seed. I would say that they where better than anybody we faced in the Second round the last 2 years too.
Yet they where portrayed as if they are utter trash...

Overall i am pretty pleased with the progression our Guys made throughout the Series. The Errors have gotten less and less and the Defense got better every Game so much that it was actually beeing able to win us Game 4 because our Offense abandoned us.

So after all we made it through a Series against a quality Opponent without injuries, worked out some kinks and most of all slowly have gotten our defense back to a point where we might even can rely on it. I am still not counting on that because it has been so long but the trend is very promising.
