Game #42 -|- Cavaliers vs. Spurs -|- Jan. 21st, 2017 @ 8:30 PM EST

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Really hate how a game like this brings out the worst in some people on this board.

The defeatist nonsense kills me.

Some of you just need to remember how DUMB some of the things you posted after the Cavs lost game 4 in the Finals looked about 10 days later.

Be careful speaking in NBA absolutes in January.

LeBron should've given Kyrie the last shot and its probably over in regulation anyway, this shit cost us the 2015 finals with Kyrie getting hurt in OT....

Seeing this happen again although in a regular season game is still a little annoying, LeBron and Lue should know better by now, Give your closer the damn ball and let him go to work LeBron should never take last shot's if Kyrie is playing.

I think the outcry is more regarding our last 10 games. We've looked really really bad on the defensive end whereas we seemed to play with conviction in November and December.

Just don't think we can get away with being a poorly-constructed, defensively-inept team 2 years in a row, especially after our chief competition got much better.

With JR's return now being an uncertainty and Love's back flaring up, things don't look good.

I just love how its assumed Kyrie will make every late game shot. As if he hasn't missed before as well.

Give me a fix, savant.

Again, I think NBA absolutes in January are a very dangerous game.

The Sixers are poorly constructed.

The Cavs have a hole or two. No team is perfect. Every team is missing something. The winner of the NBA title is whoever uses what they DO have to cover things up the best.

The injury question mark DOES suck. I mean, it's hard to complain too much because we can give Love rest and JR SHOULD be back in time, and there may even be another move out there. Plus we're not dealing with a torn shoulder, or a broken kneecap, or an ACL or an achilles.

But it is frustrating that the Warriors don't even seem to be able to sprain an ankle right now. Oh well. Don't forget about Durant's foot though. He's a 7 footer with a history of feet issues now. He looks fine but we all know there are no guarantees with feet. I think the lack of muscle and mass is working in his favor with that foot right about now, though.

Korver or Kyrie should've gotten the last shot. Love's release is too slow for the amount of time that was left.

I think if LeBron fires the pass in there he's got a better shot. Love sort of had to reach for the ball which threw off his timing.

This LeBron is aging thing has been going on since the 2014-2015 season and last year he led both teams in all categories in the Finals. So nah.

Yeah I remember hearing it especially last season. It'll happen one of these days but probably not for a couple of years. And with a game as diverse as LeBron's he should still be a top 5 player by age 35. Great game tonight, I thought LeBron had us sunk when he shook Green for that look at the end of regulation.

The year LeBron finally does truly "age" in the way you are implying....

we will know. We will know within a month of the season starting.

The last time we thought we "knew", he took a 2 week vacation, came back, threw that theory into the trash and it's stayed there ever since.

I'm really not even worried about this year or even next year.

The year after that is when my eyes will start looking more closely, around 34-35 seems to be around the right time. Maybe give LeBron an extra year or two as a benefit of the doubt that he will be able to stay this good for as long as say, Michael did.(Though obviously LBJ has many more miles...)

They'd have to double team Kyrie and Korver then. Leaving 2 guys open lol

lol so- are you suggesting we just not put a premier three point shooter on the floor in that situation because... they might cover him? We should just put our worst five shooters on the floor then to really throw them off.

You guys are missing my point. I never suggested that we not have Korver in. Everyone was saying "why the hell didn't we run that play for Korver?!?"

My point is Korver would have never been left open like that. If Korver is in, we probably end up with that same shot from Love. There's no way Korver gets that shot if he just replaces Love in that play, which is what everyone seems to think would have happened if we just had Korver replace Love in that play.

I just watched watched parts of the game on tape (missed the original run) and think some of you are overreacting.

-Love is moving around like a 50 year old now and I think it's impacting his shooting significantly. Clearly not right. Wish they could get his back right.
-When you're tied and have the final shot at the end of regulation, a fallaway 3 pointer isn't a good shot.
-Lebron obviously thought Kyrie was supposed to be in the corner in OT. Not sure who was at fault.
-I don't know why anyone would prefer the Warriors to the Spurs. I'll take the Spurs all day.
-Maybe Krover should've been out there but it's going to take a few weeks to get him integrated.
-The Cavs have spent a lot of the year coasting. They've only played really hard one game (Christmas), esp. defensively. This one they played harder than most, but they just are very disjointed looking to me, nowhere near playoff execution level. Who knows where they go from here but I'm not stressing it much at this point. If they can't get healthy by the playoffs, then that's trouble.

Sure its a regular season game in January and a loss is nothing more than a mere nuisance to a Saturday night soon to be forgotten by Sunday morning but it still kinda stings.

Too many wasted opportunities, too many mistakes and taking the opponent lightly (why you would ever take the Spurs lightly is the real question) is what did this team in. I was hoping for a solid win against a solid foe and what we got was one team executing when they had to and the other not.

Hopefully LeBron said something to the guys after the game because it all trickles down from him. They and we, as fans, could have dealt with a loss but not those mistakes.

Tighten it up fellas, show the New Orleans Pelicans on Monday what the San Antonio Spurs didn't see.
