LeBron James

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Anyone hear Bill Simmons alluding to the fact that a Dame Lillard trade to LAL was already being made in the back channels?

It was basically KCP+Lonzo for Dame.

Dame is great, but still not sure that gets them to the 2 seed. Also, my math suggests that would make them short of room for a max Kawhi contract this upcoming season (assuming you intend to keep Ingram.)

Thoughts?

I’m fairly certain the franchise he played 11 years for will always be associated with him. And his jersey will be in the rafters of the Q one day.

In any case maybe in Ohio and SF people would root for the Warriors to beat the Lakers but I’d venture to guess that most fans definitely wouldn’t. One team has five All NBA players. The other has one. The Warriors are the only team in NBA history that would be title favorites if their best player suffered a season ending injury. It’s a team so stacked that Vegas has set their odds to win a championship as greater than the rest of the NBA combined. I just can’t root for that type of team ever. In fact I think the biggest reason I became a regular poster here was that for some time the Cavs had the best and only chance of beating them.

Most people I know were dissapointed that LeBron didn’t go to Philly or Houston or somewhere where a team could be formed that could at least potentially end this horrible Warriors reign this year. The Lakers certainly won’t as presently constructed as you pointed out. But neither could the Cavs had LeBron stayed.
Great post as usual

I cannot wait for this season.

Either LeBron buys in and we see a real uptempo system and we see the best offensive player ever play in an offensive system, or we see him stage a revolt.

And in reality, if LeBron reverts back to his slow pace, no defense ways, that team is going to be a nightmare. And they will fire sale their young players for win now vets.

Either Kuzma or Ingram is going to end this year on a different team, IMO.

This sounds like a trade that a 16 year old Laker fan made up. No way that is all that Portland takes for a guy with 3 years remaining. Not to mention that the money doesn't match up. Not to mention that there is no way that Ball's value goes 'up' either sitting on the bench, or playing on the floor w/o the ball in his hands, which is what will happen if he is on the floor w/ Rondo and/or James. Portland may well end up dealing Lillard there, but it won't be for Caldwell-Pope and Ball.

I don't get the hate for Lebron on here personally. He won us a championship. First for the city in over 50 years and he came back to play for an owner he hates to do it.

He left for business and family reasons, not to ring chase. I am not mad at him. He wasn't going to win anymore in Cleveland, GS is just too stacked.

So I wish him good luck and hope he beats Curry in the WCF and shoulder shimmies in that bitches face after he knocks them off.

Pretty much this. Look, LeBron was an opportunist and most of that "coming home" BS was propaganda to remove the tarnish from his brand. But he was the biggest reason we enjoyed the most fruitful 4 years of Cavaliers basketball in franchise history. A long-elusive championship for both the organization and the city, as well as the pleasure of watching arguably the GOAT lace em up wearing your colors for 11 years, are pretty strong reasons to not resent the guy and at least appreciate him.

I just draw the line with building him a statue. Leaving once, I get; I even get why he left the second time. I'm none-too-pleased with it, but the 4 years we just enjoyed are enough to mollify the sting of it. But you don't get a statue. Cheers? Yes. Jersey retirement? No problem. Retirement in the HOF as a Cav? I sure hope so. But a statue...no.

I think that most of the people really bitter towards LeBron are still taking this recent run for granted and will thaw out once it becomes more apparent that we may never reach those heights again for a very, very long time.

In any event, I don't how one can root for the Warriors against the guy who just valiantly led us in battle against them 4 straight years and in doing so accomplished arguably the greatest feat for a player of any sport in history. Durant and the Warriors are the reasons why we only have 1 title to enjoy and not more. Hell, dislike Kyrie more than LeBron, because even with Durant being in GS, I feel this Cavs core could have eeked out at least one more championship down the line if they had stayed together.

I cant root for the Lakers to beat anybody because of their fans. Nope. That city and fan base does not deserve Lebron. All those fake ass celeb fans coming out of the woodwork sporting Lebron jerseys. Oh hell no. I hope they never win shit.

The very same motherfuckers that used to hate on him riding his jock now. Like everythings sooo much cooler now that he's in LA, corny ass bs, gimme a break . . .

The first home game for him will be unbearable. Its pretty disgusting tonight and hes on the road. As for Cavs fans, what i cant imagine is the love he will get when he comes home in November. They will cheer every shot he takes. Thats sad and pathetic. He doesnt play here anymore and i have no interest in rooting for him. Yeah he won us a title but he left us twice, which is really unheard of. Have fun in LA Bron, hope ya never win a damn thing.

I used to lurk on there forums back when Kobe was dragging them around in his last few years. When I tell u the hate for LeBron was real, that would be an understatement. I can't stand their fan base. I can deal with LeBron playing for their franchise, but those fans is what I despise.
