I actually think Europe is a great place for young guys to develop relative to the AAU/college circuit (provided they're serious about playing pro ball and good enough to not need a backup plan). They get to work on their skills full time, and they get pro mentorship full time too.

The problem for LaMelo is that he just isn't talented enough, I think. Probably 5 Euro guys per year on average get drafted and actually end up on an NBA roster. Is LaMelo top-5 out of all players in his year in Europe? Probably not...

Not even hating on Lonzo but that's probably the dumbest stat comparison I've ever seen in my life.

I think the comparison is actually more apt than we want to admit- Lonzo has also shown to be just as good as LBJ at passive-aggressively using others to complain about your situation to avoid direct conflict (LBJ through his anonymous sauces and Lonzo by using Dad).

At the end of the day...bbb is a win win situation for lavar...if lonzo really excels and becomes nba star, guess what brand is being catapulted...if bbb fails at least they have lonzo nba money to fall back on..i admire lavars creativity...hes still a douche

I understand that but you can guarantee that would be the understanding..i dont agree with it but i get the feeling that lavar isnt the one taking a huge financial risk

It's 'the understanding' because the dude has manipulated his family for their entire lives.

You're right that he's not risking much of his own personal money, which to me, is a bigger indication of his character. Calling him smart because he's willing to mess with his son's financial future just doesn't add up for me.
