Lonzo Ball

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
He hasn't been as bad as people keep saying, but he shouldn't be compared to LeBron. It's not fair to him. No rookie should ever be compared to LeBron the same way no rookie should ever be compared to Jordan.

But you see the whole point in why that graphic was made right? It's not about if it's fair to compare any rookie in any season to LeBron. It's about if the criticism of Ball has been overly exaggerated. The answer is yes it has. Nobody is saying he's as good as LeBron by showing this graphic. They're saying he's not as shit as people keep saying. He's ben one of the 10 best passers in the league this year but people immediately start pointing at his shooting. That doesn't take away from the fact that he's a really good passer. It's like you can't say anything positive about his game because he still has other things to work on like all rookies do. People just choose to only focus on the negative things and not any of the positives.

Where did the graphic show up and who made it? I think the answer to those questions will answer the why.

And it would have made more sense to compare him to Simmons if your point is to show he hasn't been terrible.

How is a reach when the stats are similar? And maybe this means that Lonzo isn't as horrible as people keep lazily saying.
Gee I sure do wonder why those 5 stats and those 5 stats alone were the ones in the graphic

Surely it doesn’t have anything to do with.... no it couldn’t be.... there’s no way they would pick the 5 stats that compare most favorably for Lonzo

STATS:LeBron|Lonzo
___________________
Pts: 20.9| 10.0

fg%/att:41.7% on 18.9 shots| 34.9% on 11 shots

FT%/att: 75.4% on 5.8 shots| 48%(lol) on 1.5 shots(lololol)

ORTG: 99 | 94 (considering we're in an extremely favorable offensive era...LOL)

Win shares: 5.1 | 1.5

And that's the trend with basically every other stat that wasn't in that graphic....lol...

Not even hating on Lonzo but that's probably the dumbest stat comparison I've ever seen in my life.

The small ballers threw up a couple donuts in their latest Lithuania game. They made it!

Combined stats of Ball brothers tonight. 0/7 fg, 2rb, 1stl, 1 turnover in 15 minutes of play. To be fair they played against third-fourth best team in lithuania so its not that surprising.

Skill-wise, LaMelo isn't a terrible player. He'd be serviceable even in the Lithuanian league if he wasn't so undisciplined and horrible with his shot-selection, and general basketball IQ.

exactly what basketball fans in Lithuania are saying, with him you can see that he had a lot of talent, he already has good dribbling, active hands, but his shot selection is awul.

I think that if they commit to it fully they could both improve a lot playing in Lithuania. Better professional level than most realize, playing against adults who are at a serious job of work rather than some AAU showcase team where they can just do what they want, and chuck shots up.

Needs the father to stand aside if this is actually for their development as players rather than publicity.

Wait? The Ball family is more spectacle than substance?

LaMelo has a chance to be an NBA prospect. But he really should be on a traditional circuit. If he has too much of a leash on this team(and he will)....he won't ever develop properly. Really should have looked at getting that kid into a legit NCAA program for a 2-3 year commitment. MSU....Kansas.. Nova.....even Kentucky would have done wonders compared to where he's at now.

The older one is a lost cause though. 0 chance.

What did those tweets say? Funny they are down now.

It was a lot, but basically it boiled down to this:

The Ball brothers aren't good enough to play actual pro games over there, the game that people thought was their pro debut was against a junior league team in a friendly sponsored by BBB. Their development is being severely hampered by not actually playing, and being in Lithuania probably isn't the best thing for them.
