Most of us do not like this team! Why ?

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Y'all will like this team when we win the Championship in June.

Never seen this thread but my simple response would be:

The parts we have would be much better suited for a different system.

It infuriates me we have the parts to run a top 5 defense with an efficient offense, and are the 29th rated team on defensive efficiency.

Hill
Hood
LeBron
Love
Nance

They could really choke teams defensively in half court with right scheme and a serious focus on defense. Instead we push the ball at all costs, and then get destroyed in transition defense because we are always a man short as opponent runs it back.

When you have a guy like LeBron, the formula should be pretty simple...Chicago Bulls-like with MJ. Focus on great defense and then run offense through LeBron every possession. There’s nothing wrong with winning 95-85.

It’s too late in season to implement this style....but it’s why I don’t enjoy our team. We don’t play to our strengths and it allows far inferior teams to win because they play within their systems and as a whole they come out a better team than LeBron and whatever you want to call Ty Lue’s stubborn, rubbish, system.

Let me add to my previous post, just to vent....

Our roster on opening night was actually pretty well constructed IMO, even with IT2 out with the injury.

Lue/organization never gave these guys a chance to play to each other’s strengths/weaknesses.

Why did we never try Wade in the starting lineup next to Thomas, LeBron, Love, Thompson?

Why was our second unit utilizing Rose and Wade together (two non shooters).

It’s just little things like that....Rose could’ve been significantly better with a backcourt mate in JR Smith who can shoot. IT could’ve been much better with a guy in Wade who could take some pressure off and handle the ball when needed.

I just hate how they implemented everyone/everything.

I really don't care about a championship anymore...it's not why I enjoy basketball. I don't care about the end goal, I care about the process, and I want the process to be enjoyable and fulfilling with or without LBJ.

I want to see players grow, I want to see team progression, I want our players to play hard on both ends of the floor and have fun each and every night.
What I basically want is a well run, professional organization and a good coach that is going to be demandful, hard, but also forgiving and relatable, with a sense of purpose and some good leadership skills to lead young and hungry guys to new heights each season.

I have also grown tired of this impossible pursuit of a championship, this group of merceneries that we try to field every season to no avail. What's wrong with trying to grow organically? to me it's more fulfilling and enjoyable to see progress of players that you had from the start instead of having a finished product that is probably going to be worse on the Cavs and once again be underutilized with King James.(See how the Warriors fans enjoyment had gone considerably down after that initial Kevin Durant craze)

I will know when things get better, and that's when I will finally feel much less critical. I need to trust this organization, and it doesn't happen right now for me. The first step in this direction is to get rid of the unprofessionalism and favoritsm.

Regardless, I will watch every Cavalier game whether Lebron stays or goes, but I will always be slightly envious of well run organizations like GSW, Boston and the Spurs, atleast until we change somewhat.
Nicely put.

That's the problem with Lue. He has his mind set on the rotation and the only thing that will change that is foul trouble. We saw groups out there in yesterday's game that never had played together or played real limited minutes. At least with Larry Drew he tried to shake it up alittle bit. Mixing and matching lineups should be a thing a team does all regular season. There is a reason you rarely see hockey lineup changes like Lue was doing all season long.

call me crazy, but I think rose would come in handy right about now

He absolutely would.....his first step and ability to get to rim is still above average. And he’s a better defender than Clarkson.

I guess, IMO, our season shouldn’t be resting in the balance of keeping Rose and Wade, but honestly, I’d prefer those guys in playoff basketball to Hood, Clarkson, Nance, and Hill.

IMO, our starting 5 at this moment should be:

Wade
JR
LeBron
Love
TT

I honestly think this team would be much better defensively if we limited “traditional” PG minutes and let LeBron/Wade handle the duties.

TT helps nothing. Damaged goods across the board.

That’s fine....I get it. I don’t like TT either.

But Wade could start and play 25 mins a night and set the tone at PG. The guy just plays so fucking smart. No, he doesn’t stretch court, but he also abuses people in midrange and still finishes well at rim.

The Cavs, somehow, never tried Wade next to a PG who could shoot either. Almost all of his minutes were next to Rose in the critical stretch of our season where we decided to blow things up. How is that possible?

IT wasn’t healthy, I get it.......but how does Lue/management, not once, decide:

Shit....IT can shoot and so can JR, maybe we should supplement the backups with a guy who can off-set their weaknesses. Let’s have IT start with Wade, and see how Rose and JR look next to each other.

The problem with Rose was he couldn't stay healthy. He played fairly well in the beginning of the season. He just needed time to adjust and the coaching staff needed to insert wrinkles in to help him.

I will always wonder how big of a negative locker room force Wade was. He was healthy for us and lead one of the best benches in the league. He might have been the most consistent player for us outside of LeBron.

There was no reason to get rid of both Rose and Wade other than luxury tax. Especially when the two roster spot were used on Okaro White and Perkins.

I've come to the conclusion Lue is dealing with some sort of aniexty issue and he leans towards things he feels "safe" in terms of rotations, lineups, and players. I believe that's why he looks so inattentive on the sidelines. It's some sort of coping mechanisms to keep whatever he is dealing with in check.

This is why we see him constantly going back to players that he knows vs the new guys. It's also why he is constantly trying to force guys into the two offenses that worked in 2016. One with an aggressive PG and the other with a 3 pt shooting center. It's also why his rotations are so set in stone, it's so he doesn't have to think about the game in front of him.

At the end of the day, Koby and Gilbert need to step in and just give him paid leave. Just let him truely work thru his stuff and get whatever long term help he needs. There is no way a couple weeks of sleep medication is truely helping, I bet he is probably in some sort of medical fog right now while he adjusts to his meds.

two different players, but if I hill can be as aggressive as rose we'd be straight. last game he had 1 assist and 7 points, that's disgusting, we're not going anywhere with stats like that from the point guard position. He's gonna have to step up
big time. we're gonna need at least 16-18 point from him

I just don't think Hill is comfortable enough to be that aggressive. He really doesn't get the ball in his hands enough either. LeBron has taken the bulk of the point guard duties because of the short timespan to come together.

Lebron was letting Rose get alot of touches in the beginning of the season.
